More than a peaceful protest

Soon after the first few supporters arrived, the first egg hit the building. It was soon followed by others. Early on, the eggs were aimed both at the protesters and at an area just above the entrance so that it would drip on whoever was passing through.

The police immediately moved in, suspecting a group of anarchist on the roof of a nearby computer store.

They were not responsible for the eggs and various other projectiles thrown on the supporters. After some discussion, they were allowed to stay on the roof.
