People arrive for the meeting

Just before 6:15pm, the first few arrive for the meeting. The media get into position, on both sides of the entrance. The organisers and police have set up a clever system to get people in, obviously learning from the clashes at previous meetings. To get to the supporters, the protesters would have to jump over a barricade and get through a line of police. As the first few supporters arrive, they are greeted with chants of "go home racist", "shame on you!" and various other colourful adjectives. One of the women was called a silly c... and a f... cow by a woman protester.
