Colene will be working at the federal "coal face" for the rectification of the many and varied problems that have come about through the implementation of 'band-aid' policies by our previous Governments.

"Industry, both primary and manufacturing, the destruction of which, wilful or otherwise, has to stop. Progress is wonderful but when you leave the people behind you have regression not progression."

"Unemployment needs to be addressed from a number of angles, P. A. Y. E. taxation, cumbersome government reporting and employer / employee relationships. Higher education does not necessarily equal employment.

"Family's are the corner stone to this collective of people we call a society. The Family Law Act's administration leaves much to be desired. The Child Support Agency has run a muck, and needs to be humanised.

"Immigration, needs to be monitored more closely, yes we can afford to be benevolent to the 'real' refugees, but in other cases, their skills verses our requirements should be the benchmark.

"Overseas aide, is a responsibility of our world community, but charity begins at home. Where we are able we should help our neighbours in their time of need. This help though should be temporary and not to the point where we are debilitated ourselves, neither should this help and short term assistance create a dependency.

"International Debt, needs to be reigned in, twenty five years ago, we were a creditor nation 'people owed us money' now we are a debtor nation. Have we been living beyond our means? Our successive governments, having allowed the sell off of our privately held interests, have now turned their attentions to our (the people's) assets. What do we do when we have 'sold off the farm'?"

Colene says, "If I am elected, I intend to be part of a team in Federal Parliament, but particularly the representative of the constituents of Oxley. Our governments of the immediate past have 'lost the plot', they have become autocratic and dictatorial. We live in a democracy, not a monarchy or defacto dictatorship. Emblazoned on the walls of Parliament House should be the motto Government for the people, by the people, of the people."

"Instead of taking us to task on the basis that 'you just don't understand, what is good for you', we should be consulted on the direction we want our county to move in. We the people have unwittingly and unknowingly let our democratic principles be usurped by successive autocratic minded governments. We let it slip away, now we have to claw it back."
