Background:

Edward (Ted) retired early as a ships Captain. A widower with a family of three grown up children and six grand children, he was looking forward to enjoying life in the company of his family. Although the majority of his working life has been in shipping, he worked 15 years in the London Metropolitan Police attaining the rank of Station Sergeant and at time as Acting Inspector.

Born and educated in the UK he emigrated to Australia in 1974. Having left the police he returned to working at sea and attained the position of Captain some 10 years later.

Experience:

Ted's working life has been unusual in that he has achieved positions of responsibility in two widely differing fields. This has given him an insight into two important facets of life, law and order plus transport and commerce, two important areas needing improvement in Australia today.

Why One Nation?

Ted attend the first meeting held by One Nation in Adelaide after seeing the horrific scenes at other meetings round Australia. As a result of not hearing anything he objected to, and realising that the negative publicity was manufactured, he decided to become involved. Since then, the more he has learned, the more he has wanted to see changes in the attitudes of Australian government.

Ted believes that full employment and a feeling of confidence in the future should be our aims in life today.

He feels that both Labor and Liberal have failed to grasp this perspective and Ted is tired of hearing people say about both parties in power "Why on earth did they do that". If Australia was once again a successful country, we would be able to provide overseas aid without any misgivings about depriving our own underprivileged and needy.

Today you do not see poor past parliamentarians, but you do see the poor among the people who voted them into power. In parliament Ted would love to expose the unnecessary privileges of the gravy train.
