It is a perfect Queensland day.
The papers today are full of the Hanson phenomenon. They are suddenly aware that there is a very real third force in Australia. The latest polls show that Pauline Hanson's One Nation attracting 22% of the primary vote in Queensland.
The Queensland Times should have been renamed the ALP "faithful" today as it was full of biased reporting by ALP editor Mark Hinchliffe who took his editorial gloves off. A full page feature glorifying the ALP's David Hamill, against One nation's Heather Hill for the seat of Ipswich, was the cherry on top of the ALP cake.
I arrive at the polling booth to support Heather Hill. The ALP are already there.
The voting booth, seen right, was not one of the most distinguished locations on earth.
There are three of four ALP faithful gathering around their booth. Two cards are being handed out... I find it strange that the one appears to be for the Liberal yet the man handing them out appears to be very friendly with the ALP and, not only that, the Liberal party's candidate had withdrawn.
Let us also remember that this was the seat of One Nation's state leader, Heather Hill... the ugly side of the ALP was surfacing, like always.
It was only at 9.30am when Heather Hill popped by that I was informed that the cards were bogus and were "authorised" by Mike Kaiser state secretary of the ALP. I had not bothered to check - I guess being a political innocent I am learning fast.
The images below clearly show ALP boothworkers handing out and holding the bogus cards.
Let us remember that this was being done after much adoo about credibility by the ALP's leader Peter Beattie of One Nation and baseless, incorrect claims that One Nation would put the Coalition ahead on 38 seats in the state election.
The fellow in the stripped shirt having done his bit was replaced by the thug in the blue shirt below who had the distinction of trashing the One Nation stand by throwing all our how-to-vote cards on the grass after I kept on pointing out to voters the ALP's blatant deception on the bogus "Liberal" cards.
The large fellow in the white t-shirt picked the how to vote cards up after I refused to, apologising for the actions of the wayward ALP supporter.
A picture taken of me at our little One Nation stand, and another of Heather Hill and my wife just before Heather and I left to cover her voting.
After I returned from covering Heather Hill's vote the ALP had withdrawn their bogus how-to-vote card on instructions from someone higher up.
