For some it had been a long, long night... several of the guests having partied on with Pauline up until the early hours of the morning.
For me it was yet another early start - getting the record of the historic weekend up on the Internet. The sun was rising over Pauline's farmhouse heralding in another perfect day for those gathered here.
Most of my morning was taken up on the net and preparing the coverage for the big day just gone... One Nation - one year old. However I was able to catch these beauties... Alex with friends at the campsite and Vanessa (President of Young Nation) learning to ride a motor bike... I have censored some pictures of Vanessa trying to restart the bike - taken just after the one below. It was not a pretty sight!
This was a day in which families and children starred centre stage. It was quite an extraordinary development as the relaxed mood of Pauline Hanson filtered through the families who had come to her farm.
As the sunset the guests once again gathered at the main campsite for the evening main activities.
The major parts of the evening included:
The early part of the evening - Pauline, food and friends.
The kids of all ages come into their own.
Fancy dress - all were winners and grinners.
Karaoke - singers, singers and more singers.
My wife and I packed up our tent and somewhat sadly left Pauline's farm the next morning at 7am, Monday 13th April 1998.
On the way home my car had engine problems (low oil) literally a kilometre from the farm gate. While Viv got some oil from the nearest garage - 20 kilometres away, I photographed a massive spider.... from one web builder to another I had time to compare skills and fell a long way short of this fella!
In closing - what a change from the city life... on this remote rural road three locals stopped to offer me help. In the city you can stand sidelined all day without anyone offering assistance.
