In June 1995 his company's, Interactive Presentations Pty Ltd, contract with the council ended and Scott established Global Web Builders in Karana Downs, a suburb of Ipswich City. The home page of Global Web Builders, THE DEFINITIVE LIFESTYLE GUIDE TO (over 5,000) AUSTRALIAN WEBS, was established in July 1995. The impact on the Internet community was immediate with over 1,000,000 visitors recorded in the first three months of its existence.
This guide is the model on which the Definitive Global Lifestyle Series was established.
He co-developed Computer Aided Learning programmes for database end-users which are being used by a number of Universities and Polytechnics as well as by a large telecommunications supplier. He worked in the IT Industry as Systems Development Manager and later as Head: Management Information. In the latter capacity he was also the project manager during the initial stages of the development of an Executive Information System for the Port Elizabeth Technikon.
He is currently a senior lecturer in computer studies as well as project manager for using hypermedia in distance education at the Wellington Polytechnic in New Zealand. He completed a B.Comm in Mathematics and Economics at the University of Stellenbosch in 1978 and a B.Comm (Honours) in Strategic Management and Information Management at the University of South Africa in 1995. He is currently registered for a Ph.D at the University of Victoria, Wellington.
