The National Party had yet to learn its lesson that it will never again form government unless it dumped its pro-Labor policy of putting One Nation last on its how-to-vote-card, the Member for Ipswich West, Mr. Jack Paff, said today when commenting on claims by defeated Mulgrave QNat candidate Naomi Wilson that One Nation voters were "traitors".
"The only traitors that I know about are the Nationals who betrayed Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen and threw away government to Labor because they had vacated their conservative base for Liberal and Labor trendyism," Mr. Paff said.
"Naomi Wilson and her mob are the real traitors," Mr. Paff warned.
"They threw away the Mulgrave election because they refused to exchange preferences with One Nation, and instead swallowed Labor's humbug and codswallop and played Labor's devious game because they wanted to elect Labor."
"As a direct result of this devious humbug, the Nationals lost out again," he said. "They were just too smart for themselves."
"Some of the National leaders are so trendy that their only major job is a pea-and-shell game to hide their trendyism from their own conservative electors. That's why they passed Labor's draconian gun laws, and cut tariffs."
"Many National and Laborite voters have discovered the deceit and have voted One Nation to register a protest against the 'traitors' who have betrayed conservative and working class values."
"Naomi Wilson and the National hierarchy knew exactly what would happen and they still refused to exchange preferences with One Nation, and consequently shot themselves in the foot electorally."
"Labor has conducted a vicious vilification campaign against One Nation by exploiting its party resources within its multicultural and Aboriginal industries, and in some cases the Nationals and Liberals have fallen for Labor's campaign of smear, name calling and hate."
"Some National leaders are so in love with themselves that they can't see the Labor forest for Labor's vilification trees." Mr Paff said.
"The hierarchy of the QNats look at voters as toy soldiers or automans to be trained and sensitised to jump through party hoops, and they can't understand why One Nation voters won't perform to endorse failing policies," said Mr Paff.
