The four muskateers, as we named ourselves (Jack Paff, Colleen Hughes, Doug Abbott and Scott Balson) on the way home last night, set off for Toogoolawah just over one hour's drive north west of Ipswich.
It was dark when we left for the 7pm meeting at the Alexandra Hall - the town's biggest building.
We were early and dropped into the local pub in which about a dozen locals had gathered. Jack was first out of the blocks with his state seat of Ipswich West handouts. They were favourably received.
The fellow on the right above received the One Nation award for classic comments when he said, quote: "John Howard would wear a bar stool if he came into this pub."
Jack can be seen above centre making a move on a deer and others in the pub toast One Nation.
When we arrived at the Alexandra Hall just before 7pm it was teeming with people. A head count showed that about 200 had turned up to offer support in Pauline Hanson's Blair campaign.
Below left to right: David Oldfield, Pauline Hanson and Ross McConnell (Pauline Hanson's campaign officer).
David had introduced Ross McConnell and spoken about the challenges ahead; the background behind Pauline wanting to continue in the lower house so that she could show the way for other One Nation candidates and related issues.
Pauline then gave a brief on her involvement in politics going back to her days as a councillor in the Ipswich City Council, how she lost her council seat by just 130 votes - resulting in her entering the federal arena and changing forever the face of Australian politics forever.
After she had finished Ross McConnell talked about the establishment of a campaign structure and the identification of "weak" spots in her electorate.
Pauline then asked the state and federal candidates present at the meeting to come to the front of the stage to address the audience for about one minute each.
Picture right and left the candidates address the gathering and below left to right: Jack Paff, Ronald Davey, Heather Hill and David Cockburn (right pic Avril Baynes on right).
Just before leaving at about 10pm I took this picture of Pauline with the One Nation candidates...
The four muskateers left Toogoolawah at about 9.15pm arriving home at near 10.30pm...
A fabulous evening well supported by a groundswell of Australians.
