Another perfect day in paradise.
With lots to do as the Oxley branch of One Nation would be meeting at our home for a social Christmas party.
Pauline Hanson was expected to join the festivities on the day that News Limited's Sunday Mail had tried to portay her as some sort of "bimbo" in a front page story. The story being built around the book being written by ex-adviser John Pasquarelli.
The story, we all felt, had backfired on the paper and its intentions. Pauline treated it as a bit of a joke.
Her supporters, of all ages, were there to prove that her popularity was not something "sexual" as implied but a sincere and deep respect for the guts and determination of a woman on a mission to get Australia on the road again.
Soon after Pauline arrived Oxley branch president, Darryl Kelly addressed the gathering.
Pauline responded with a rousing speech about the future of the party. The feeling was unanimous amongst Oxley members that Pauline Hanson would hold the balance of power after the next Federal Election.
Formalities over, it was time to take Pauline and her two teenage children, Adam and Lee, for a walk around the property.
Here we have the side of Pauline that the media do not want you to see or know. Pauline the mum, the mum concerned about her children's future. The mum with a vision and the guts to make things happen.
Accompanying Pauline and her family was Darryl (right) a farmer from Queensland's central west.
Darryl talked about the negative effect that native title claims were having on the positive outlook normally found amongst people on the farm.
With yesterday's report on the new claims over the Central Burnett region things were not getting better.
Just before Pauline left to move on to the next party we took these photos:
Left: Pauline with EricKaunna Schmidt the One Nation co-ordinator in South East Queensland on her left; Barbara Hazelton, her private secretary behind her and Helen Dodd, author of the book "Pauline the Hanson Phenomenon" on her right.
Right: Pauline with my wife Vivienne, myself and young boy Alex.
And why do we say beautiful one day perfect the next in Queensland?
Well have a grab of our sunset!
