Background: Of most interest is that from the 1st October 1997. Left Link archives suddenly carried the following disclaimer seen at the bottom of this page:
"Publication of a message on this list does not indicate endorsement by either LEFTLINK or the New International Bookshop".
Previously this had clearly not been the case....

Support continues to come in for the campaign to make Moreland a "Hanson-free zone". Davina Woods, a member of the Brunswick Aboriginal Community, and Thanh Le, president of the Vietnamese Community Association in Victoria, are the latest to agree to speak at a lobby of Moreland Council. State Labor MP Carlo Carli and local Labor councillor Andrew Rowe are already confirmed. There will also be a speaker from the Brunswick branch of the International Socialist Organisation, which initiated the campaign. The aim of the campaign is to encourage the council to adopt a policy that no council facilities will be hired to One Nation--a policy for which the council Labor caucus has signalled support. The lobby will take place from 6.30pm on Monday, October 27, outside Brunswick Town Hall on Sydney Rd (junction with Dawson St--tram 19). After 7.30pm, a petition supporting the campaign will be presented. Local anti-racists have so far collected 1300 signatures. For more about the campaign, |
