Please note that I will be away in Melbourne at the Australian Internet Awards from Saturday 8th to Tuesday 11th November. A full report on this trip and the news will be updated on Tuesday night. The Internet kid, young Alex Balson has once again reached the finals for his web site - Alex's Scribbles - Koala trouble.

There is a growing discrepancy in surveys prepared for newspapers and others which is making a complete joke of the entire credibility of such tools of measuring public perception and support in everything from politics to dining out at MacDonalds.

The experience of One Nation in Queensland regarding A C Neilsen McNair is detailed at this link... it makes incredible reading.

However, what makes even more remarkable reading is the recent survey carried out by the Gold Coast Bulletin.

The paper surveyed nearly 700 respondents aged between 13 and 19 years of age and came up with the following voting preferences:

All respondents by age Overall

ave %

13 years 14 years 15 years 16 years 17 years 18 years 19 years
Liberal/National Coalition 18% 19% 18% 16% 18% 15% 22% 17%
Pauline Hanson's One Nation 16% 11% 13% 13% 13% 20% 20% 21%
Australian Labor Party 10% 11% 12% 6% 8% 13% 8% 11%
Australian Democrats 4% 2% 3% 5% 6% 0% 5% 9%
Australia First 1% 2% 3% 1% 1% 0% 2% 0%
Don't know 32% 42% 30% 42% 31% 31% 29% 20%
Don't care 11% 11% 18% 9% 14% 8% 3% 9%
Other 8% 2% 3% 8% 9% 13% 11% 13%
TOTAL (692) 100% 100% 100% 100% 100% 100% 100% 100%

Of course the results of this survey never reached the mainstream media but an interesting response was received from Kim Beazley who said that it was clear that the major parties were not doing enough to highlight the damage One Nation and its policies were doing to Australia.

Perhaps he has forgotten that all thinking Australians don't believe the tweedle-dum (Beazley) in politics any more. His party's day has come and gone.

In case you think that this is a survey prepared by a pro-Hanson paper hear what reporter Michael Jacobson has to say, "For those who lump her - and count me in there - what is most disturbing is the way Ms Hanson's support base is expanding. Getting younger."

The results kind of knock the wind out of that bit-journalist Terry Sweetman's sails who said in article in May this year,

"She has no place in her tiny world for get-up-and-go kids who can save a few bucks, throw on a backpack and go and meet the world on its own terms.

"She has no time for kids who are willing to judge people on what they say and do, rather than how they worship, what they eat and the colour of their skins. She’s scared of them because they are smarter than her, so much braver than her, and, if they live to be 100, will always be younger than her."

Guess what the kids have just shown up your comments for what they are hollow words from a hollow person, namely Terry Sweetman.

Well, isn't that a classic! Failed Labor politician Michael Lavarche was handed the top role as the state leader of the Australian Republican Movement by his mates in the ALP and then says, "If the Australian people wish to go down the popular election path, that is a perfectly acceptable method of electing the head of state."

The day a mainstream Aussie gets a job of note without having to be in the back pocket of political heavyweights will be the day I reconsider this issue!

The people elect the President! Give me a break the elites and their political heavyweight mates have already politicised what is supposed to be an apolitical referendum on whether Australia should become a Republic... you have to look no further than the make up of the Australian Republican Movement candidates - all second tier (past, failed) politicians and well-placed wealthy participants who have probably bought their way into the deal.

Making the news"  -

Political:

The millionaire belt of former Australian Prime Ministers who have creamed off the Australian goodwill in their selfish and self-serving desire for fame at any price made another utterly predictable move yesterday.

Not the Liberals... no the Australian Labor Party greats signed a document censuring Pauline Hanson and her One Nation party. Those involved Gough Whitlam (the man who still changes personality when you mention the word "governor"); Bob Hawke (who lied when he cried and said that "no Australian child would live in poverty by the year 1990") and Paul Keating - the eloquent scum of the middle-class (as Kim Beazley senior put it so neatly some years ago) are now all millionaires who have a lot to lose if Hanson gets in. Oh, the man who lost his pants in the early hours of the morning in a US hotel - Malcolm Fraser - was also supportive of the document, but then he would be part of anything to get his name in the papers.

For one thing their free travel will be history... and why shouldn't it be? Paul Keating is now a consultant for a number of businessemen and politicians in both Australia and Asia - his trips are paid for by the tax payer but his rewards go into an account owned by P J Keating who is now estimated to have assets of about Au$70 million. Not bad for a man who only resigned his post in government last year on a salary of just under Au$200,000.

The "so-called" leaders dismissed Pauline Hanson and One Nation as "an accident of the electoral system" likening her portrayal of Aboriginals as cannibals to the depiction of Jews as a sub-human species in Germany in the four page document.

The difference is that it has been recorded that some Aborigines, just as some Caucasians, just as some Asians, were cannibals many, many years ago. What is wrong with stating the truth? Is there some sort of embargo on the  statement as it relates to indigenous Australians? I have read about my forebears being cannibals in accepted history being taught in my school - so what?

The document went on to say that Hanson's "offensive manner" was reported extensively in Asia, "we are putting all this at risk if, as a nation, we are not seen to be repudiating the bigoted, uninformed, simplistic and subversive nonsense being peddled by Pauline Hanson."

Guess who has got the most to lose in Asia - not you and I - the Keating's with their growing bank balances, the Hawke's and their ilk who sold the heart and soul of Australia to overseas investors (not just from Asia) in return for financial favours that they are now gathering in and of course the media barons with their cosy relationship with the current bi-partisan political charade.... of course they will try to demonise someone who stands for the views of the average Aussie..

The document continues, "It (the Hanson phenomenon) is a subject raised regularly by political leaders and the media in the region and already some decisions adverse to Australia have been made on the basis of a perception, created by her, that there is in our community a climate unwelcoming to Asians."

Now who was it who made that famous "recalcitrant" remark that recently cost us a multi-billion dollar defence deal with Malaysia? Not Pauline Hanson - no one Paul Keating what a lying bigot!

The document concludes, "With Malcolm Fraser, we urge Australians to join us in seeking to purge our great country of a malign and angry influence which, if unchecked, can divide our nation and jeopardise our future economic and social wellbeing."

These men have jointly done that already bringing Australia down from a once great country to a country deeply in debt and divided because of the divisive and racist policies of multiculturalism.

Hanson hit the nail on the head when responding to the signing by the men saying that they are only interested in protecting their own investments in Asia, "One of them was knifed in the back by his own people and the other two were overwhelmingly voted out by the Australian people.

"The Australian people should ask how it is that Hawke and Keating accumulated such personal fortunes during their time in office."

She said that she would call for former prime ministers to lose their travel and other perks once they left office.

Oh yes, the former Prime Ministers have a lot to watch their backs for, not only will they lose their immoral perks but they could just find their honour and credibility being questioned with a sense of urgency when mainstream Australia hit back at these charlatans of the 70s and 80s.

Yesterday Prime Minister John Howard promised to force a double dissolution if his ten point plan on Wik was defeated twice in the Senate - forcing a double dissolution.

He also closed the door on Patrick Dodson's request to be reappointed to chairman of the Aboriginal reconciliation Council saying, "I have bent over backwards to secure this man's reappointment, but his opportunity to accept reappointment was last Saturday night. After we offered the job to another person (Evelyn Scott) of eminent qualifications it was too late.

Meanwhile Willy Wanker the leader of the opposition, Kim Beazley, again said that he did not want to fight the next election on the issue of native title saying, "It does seem to be the case that there is a determined attitude amongst some of us, to produce divisive electoral outcomes that rend the sense of solidarity and cohesion in our community."

You Say:

MUTICULTURALISM official US government policy

Dear Editor:

On 30 Oct, 1997 Bill Clinton made MUTICULTURALISM official US government policy, by his announcement that Census 2000 will use six racial categories. These racial categories are:

1. American Indian or Alaskan Native
2. Asian
3. Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
4. Black or African American
5. White
6. Hispanic or Latino

A recent essay by Lewis Bean, Jubilee Newspaper correspondent says: "No Nation is born multicultured. Multiculturalism is an unnatural as well as unhealthy condition that can only afflict states in national decline. A multicultural state carries in its genesis the seeds of eventual national destruction. All multicultural nations will be found in a state of political, moral, and social decay. Greed and corruption will characterise the government coupled with oppressive measures directed against citizens. Lies and deceit will be the stock and trade of media, politicians and educational institutions. Such are the bellwethers of a multiculturist advent."

Fits the USA rather well, doesn't it?

Libertarians believe that the government of a country dedicated to liberty and equality has no business asking Americans about their race. This is why Libertarians have instituted our "Say No to Racial Classifications" campaign and are asking all Americans to join us.

Subject: Re: ALP slums it with the big end of Chinatown....

Dear Sir,

Don't you think you & One Nation should be running a little harder on the issue I've raised here?....I mean this "rally" in Chinatown was an out & out lynchmob calling for her liquidation.....I've included an email reply to my post, from a former journo on the South China Morning Post, cheers,

& why does the ALP collaborate so enthusiastically with the McCarthyist lynch-mob who want Hanson liquidated.........perhaps some of the ALP-vermin who infest this NG would care to please explain.... As a former South China Morning Post correspondent I couldn't agree more.

But what about the chattering wankers at The Age's new candidate for canonisation, St Janet Holmes a Court. Her obscene wealth came from her late hubby's demolition of Australian companies throwing thousands of Australian workers out of jobs while he sold the profitable bits offshore. Yet the Standard Gauge paints her as some sort of national heroine (he probably made money there, too) and their reporterettes titter as she refers to "that woman from a Queensland fish and chip shop" as if only the lowest caste in society would occupy such a place. Hang about, don't a lot of our multicultural friends inhabit fish and chip shops? But then, they're the sort of newcomers who are too busy making a quid to bother about queuing up at the multicultural industry trough.

Subject: Comments on Australian News of the Day

Hi!....I dunno if this is the right section to add this comment...or the right area... but i wish to comment about the escape of the 'dangerous' prisoners from the Brisbane gaol...

i think that the whole point of imprisonment has been misstated....in these 'prisons', they have social workers, psychologists, sociologists, 'liberal' priests and ministers and various other people of what could best be described as an anti-Christian, pro-secular humanist ideology working..

the significance of this is that people like these characters who 'escaped' are constantly told rubbish like: 'we all came from a pre-biotic soup', 'society is to blame', 'there are no such things as absolute right and wrong', 'what`s wrong with you can be fixed up by "counselling"...its fixable by human methods[hidden assumption: the philosophy of 'monism'...man is just the sum of his parts..i.e: consists of matter only]'

now, the end result of this is that if you tell someone that they only consist of matter, they came from matter by purely natural processes, that nothing exists except matter...it logically follows that such things as 'morality' are merely human conventions.....Thus: it is not hard for someone who has really thought this through to come to the conclusion that society's "laws" are also, at best, conventions and ,at worst, mere whims....with no moral authority from an external source(dare one say God and the Bible?!), why SHOULDN'T someone rape, kill and pillage as the whim takes them?

The solution? TO initiate an intensive education programme in prisons that man is NOT just matter, that he didn't arrive on the scene by mere chance and that people are answerable to a Higher Authority than mere men....like it or not....as a start, could I recommend a programme similar to the ones being presently run in certain US prisons that provide prisoners with powerful evidence that science and historical research back up the Bible 100%.....that's what i call REAL rehabilitation!

Business:

The crisis in the Asian stockmarkets continues to play havoc with the price of Australian shares. The All Ordinaries lost about Au$9 billion yesterday when 57.6 points (or2%) was knocked off the value of shares with the index closing at 2513.4.

Stock prices in Tokyo fell to their lowest level in two years with the Nikkei shedding 4.22% or 697 points to close at 15,836.

In Hong Kong the Hang Seng index fell 308 points to 10104 amid fears of higher interest rates and attacks on the local currency.

Pridential-Bache senior dealer John Blackhall-Cain said, "Just when we (Australian investors) thought it was safe, and calm had returned to the markets we are faced with another sell-off.

"We're used to large fluctuations on the Hang Seng, but the Nikkei is also much softer - and that's a big concern to us.

"Basically investors got spooked by another Asian sell-off and if Wall Street follows the trend, we'll be down again next weekend."

Personal trivia, from the global office:

Another beautiful day in paradise.

Have a good one...

Off to Melbourne later this morning...
