Between the One Nation lines
Last night was a historic test for democracy.
It was a night when Pauline Hanson called the Ipswich City Councilors, "this twisted, unrepresentative gang who run the council...."
Thanks to our Queensland police democracy won.
Here is a full report, with images, of the evening.
At least four Aboriginal organisations, funded by the Australian taxpayer through ATSIC, have been referred to police because of allegations of massive financial mismanagement.
Aboriginal organisation | Report comments: |
Maithakari North West Queensland Aboriginal Corporation in Cloncurry | Chronic mismanagement, potential fraud and possible irregularities with payments to office bearers. |
Thallon Aboriginal Corporation near Roma | Financial statements not lodged. No general meeting for seven years. |
Thoorgine Educational and Cultural Centre in Hervey Bay | Possible misappropriation, misuse and mismanagement of funds. Debts of at least Au$100,000 |
Yirrganwdgi Aboriginal Corporation in Cairns | Corporation inactive and insolvent debts in excess of Au$62,000 |
The audit has revealed that there are hundreds of thousands of dollars which are unaccounted for and in which fraud is suspected.
The Registrar of Aboriginal Corporations watchdog body has uncovered irregularities in 70% of indigenous organisations investigated in the past year.
Registrar Noureddine Bouhafs saying that he had, to date, investigated 65 Aboriginal councils and discovered problems in 44 of them.
Interesting that ATSIC demanded a "clamp" on the Registrar after it discovered that two organisations linked to their deputy chairman, "Sugar" Ray Robinson were being investigated.
Here is an extract from the article:
THERE are no rules to the game, no hidden agendas, no evil intent. Americans George Soros, Julian Robertson and Paul Tudor Jones lead the international financial wolf pack, but there are hundreds more like them driven by the one imperative: make as much money as you can. Every form of publicly traded security in every market in this increasingly globalised economy is fair game by any tactic, fair or foul, as long as it is legal. The battered Australian dollar, sliding to 58 cents this week against the American dollar, has been in their sights. Their vehicles are hedge funds, the exclusive investment clubs for the wealthy that are thriving in America. Privately run and never advertised to the public, these funds are free of security exchange controls and at liberty to operate in any publicly traded commodity anywhere in the world. They have multi-billion-dollar assets leveraged to 20 times their value, so they can overwhelm currencies and sharemarkets. They play futures, sell short, force down the values of stocks and dollars, then exit with profits that give investors extraordinarily high returns.

Justice Einfeld and a former tax commissioner, Mr Trevor Boucher, were among notables who yesterday launched Racewatch, in which concerned citizens are being asked to report election candidates and parties espousing racially inflammatory views.
Today backstroke champion Nicole Stevenson, Justice Einfeld and a young lawyer, Mr Jason Yat-Sen Li, will join the Ethnic Communities Council (ECC) of NSW to launch a "community harmony" campaign with the theme "Advance Australia fair, dark or any shade in between".
With the backing of the Governor-General, Sir William Deane, Mrs Hazel Hawke and B1 and B2 of Bananas in Pyjamas, "ordinary" Australians, including those in rural communities, will be asked to declare support for racial harmony.
Wearing intertwined yellow and green ribbons would mark their support, said the chairman of the ECC, Dr Anthony Pun. "If we don't stop the rot by stepping in and showing we can live in harmony, the yellow and green may turn to red."
Mr Li said the campaign should help improve Australia's current poor image overseas.
Ms Stevenson said she wanted to send a peaceful message to the 197 countries coming to the 2000 Olympics, in contrast with the turbulent side which had been shown recently.
Justice Einfeld said Australia had brought 6 million people here since World War II and had an obligation to protect those who were offered "a tranquil life" from racial hatred.
He denied that the intention of the Racewatch campaign, being run by Community Aid Abroad (CAA) and the B'nai B'rith Anti-Defamation Commission, was to "dob in" a racist.
"This is not intended to be an outing process," he said. "It is to bring the [racist] viewpoint to the public's attention."
The executive director of CAA, Mr Jeremy Hobbs, said volunteer "racewatchers" would report on any candidate's racist rhetoric.
The reports would be checked and, if found to be true and objectionable, the candidates' sentiments would be publicised by a panel comprising Justice Einfeld, Mr Boucher and a former Race Discrimination Commissioner, Ms Irene Moss.
Mr Boucher said the Racewatch campaign would dovetail with another by Racial Respect, the ACT organisation he heads, which will release a report in a fortnight on where all current Federal MPs and senators stand on race issues.

I drove 45mins to see Pauline & hear her speak. I did vote for One Nation but in all fairness I still don't know a great deal about the party. I try to stear away from being educated by the media. I had seen them on a number of occasions not let Pauline explain her views. A friend of mine from work came with me and we were discusted with the fact that it couldn't be held indoors where the "insects" (or whatever you would like to describe the rif raf that turned up to try to put a dampener on things) could have been left out side. To be honest neither of us are totally committed supporters because we don't know what Pauline really says on issues. I am totally against Racsism and I heard the morons screaming out that Pauline is a Racist. I got to tell you I just can't figure out how they come up with these comments. We were both suitably impressed with what we heard Pauline say & if she was speaking the truth we are backing her. Pauline has said things that has been on my mind for years (treating ALL Australians equally, The way single motherhood is encouraged. When my wife was in hospital having our second child 5yrs ago there were a number of single mums there & she seen the social workers come & explain how they could get every sent possible out of the system. I have heard of a system whereby food stamps are used as part payment for unemployment benefits, This way no one will go hungry but it will cut down on the "lifestyle" some of the unemployed have. Tell Pauline I'm a Postie and there are a lot of us supporting her. Could you put me on the mailing list.

Absolutely un-democratic behaviour. Actions of this nature are solid evidence that Pauline must succeed if this country is ever going to stand a chance of maintaining freedom and independence.

An attempt should be made to charge the leaders of any group that attempts to interfere with One Nation's political freedoms. The Charges may be laid before the Supreme Court on Indictment or by information in the Federal court whichever is the easier. Under section 28 of the Crimes Act 1914. So long as the persons organising the rally stay quiet and do not threaten or intimidate the people from One Nation who attend then they will not commit any offences. If they do, it should cost nothing to charge them and I will prepare the indictments for filing if neccessary. An added bonus is that in Queensland, if you succeed in the prosecution State law allows you half the fine. Video evidence would be best.

Have you ever heard a person say, "I don't like Pauline Hansons policies." or "I believe some of the things she says but I don't agree with other things she says" and you ask "What policies exactly don't you like?" or "What are the things she says that you don't like." Can any of your readers tell me. Have they ever had an answer that has a modicum of credibility. I like to be objective and if a person can give me a reason why Pauline is a racist I will listen but to date nobody has ever been able to convince me. The best answer I have had is "Come on have you been living under a rock. Don't you read the papers." Another question I would like to get an answer to is "Why does the Government pay Child Care Centres to look after out children?" Is it because there is so much work in this country and not enough workers. Does the Government like us so much that they think we deserve a break from our children or has anybody ever thought that maybe the Government is brain washing out children. I know I will be accused of being a redneck (A term used to shut politically incorrect people up) but I believe our children are being brain washed. Try this! Ask your local preschool teacher what they think of guns and I guarantee the answere will be, "I find that when the children play with guns they become aggressive." Ask the teachers what they think of Pauline HANSON. You won't find too many One Nation supporters here. In 1986 I was in America and child care was a thriving industry. In Australia there were only a few centres to cater for genuine working parents who needed care for their children. Today it is a multimillion dollar industry with Child Care Centres valued at around one million dollars each. Earlier this year I heard President Clintons State of the Union address and he said that he wanted to see child care for all. Undoubtedly Child Care Centres will be another tool that will be used in an attempt to shut down One Nation.
Wake up and smell the roses Australia.

Its rather strange, but I am getting phone calls from weirdos, even though I am not at thispoint a member of ONE NATION.
One call related to me being a racist and after a heated argument with the other person I hung up.
Where was my name obtained from??
I HAVE HAD TO DISCONNECT MY PHONE.

Scott,
I just thought of a way to combat/distract the kids who go to the One Nation meetings to cause trouble - play dance music from a van behind them, give out baloons and free cans of coke or something. After all they are still kids and that would probably amuse them more.

Scott,
I note your concern, expressed in today's 'News,' on the Coalition going so far under in the forthcoming Federal election that the ALP could be easily elected in its own right. I also noted comments in yesterday's mainstream newsprint media that the ALP was aware of this, but also worried that One Nation preferences might flow back to the Coalition, and, because of their own *moral*(!!) stand of putting One Nation last on their cards, this could possibly prevent that happening.
It seems clear that One Nation candidates and supporters should strongly emphasise yesterday's pre election announcement by Kym Beazley that the ALP intends to raise immigration levels if elected. Restating this, by linking it to the two million Australians currently unemployed, and to the previous Labor government's practices of letting in large numbers of non English speaking background migrants (as detailed in Paul Sheehan's book) in order to shore up marginal electorates, should sheet home the ALP's - in the form of Kym Beazley - complete and utter disregard for anything other than getting into power and staying there at all costs. The non English speaking background aspect is great to emphasise because it does not single out Asians, and is only discriminatory in relation to language, which makes perfect sense when linked to employment potential for non English speaking migrants in the current high unemployment conditions.
Carol Kavanagh
Subject: The mind-boggling mathematics of migration.
Scott,
Further to my previous comments on the recent "Sixty Lies Per Minute" program: I seem to remember Phillip Ruddock mentioning some sort of University "study" which "proves" that immigration brings down our unemployment.
I'd like to know how that could possibly be?
Let's say we get an immigrant (we'll call him Tran) who arrives on our shores.
Now in order for Tran to reduce, by one, the number of Australian unemployed, Tran would have to cause not one, but TWO new job vacancies to occur...
See, Tran takes one job for himself. That means that there's one less job vacancy, which means one more unemployed Australian who's missed out on a job, because Tran took it.
But that's OK, because Tran, just by coming here, has (according to Ruddock) created more employment. That means that the person who missed out on the job that Tran took, can take the job that Tran (just by being here) has CREATED!
This also means that, if we have a million unemployed, then all we have to do to reduce the unemployment to zero, is to import one million more Trans!
I dunno.. This all sounds like Snake Oil to me. Or smoke and mirrors, at least.
Why?
Well for one thing, if the Howard Government thinks immigration is such a good antidote to unemployment, why in recent times has that same Howard government reduced immigration?
Another thing that puzzles me is this:-
We constantly hear that advancing technology is putting people out of work. We also know that more and more of our jobs in manufacturing industries are going overseas, and that something like 30 farmers per week are going bust due to competition from cheap imported goods. In this situation, then, where's the sense in bringing in another million unemployed Trans? Where, indeed, is the sense in bringing in even ONE more unemployed Tran?
Would anyone REALLY believe that each new immigrant creates one more job vacancy in addition to the one he takes?
Of course not. The fact is that many of our new immigrants have gone straight onto the unemployment benefits, Unemployment in some migrant communities, or "ghettoes", commonly runs as high as 30 or even 40 percent.
Nobody could doubt that by bringing in, say, a thousand immigrants, you will increase the demand for goods and services. But really, will those thousand create enough demand to bring another thousand job vacancies into being? Plus another thousand new job vacancies for those immigrants themselves?
Not bleedin' likely, cobber!
So, I want to see this "study" that Ruddock believes in with an almost religious fervour. Is it online anywhere?
We taxpayers paid for this so-called "study" to be done. Is it unreasonable for us to expect to be able to actually see it for ourselves?

Subject: D. Hewitt's letter
I write in reply to Darren Hewitt's letter.
Barry R. Smith, a former New Zealand school teacher and now full time Evangelist, has written many books on the NWO. He has been researching this long before Brian Wilshire or even Stan Deyo jumped on the "band-wagon". His books are "Warning", "2nd Warning", "Postscript" and the two that Darren mentioned, "Final Notice" and "Better Than Nostrodamus".
This man's interpretation of events now taking place is uncanny. I say interpretation instead of prophecy because he just researched the Bible and got his info from there. He addressed a meeting in Dee Why and warned of 'Desert Storm' before it even became 'Desert Shield'. He sussed the '87 crash as a 'test' leading to the big one that will bring in the One World Currency (see Europe at the moment). This currency will then quickly lead to the cashless society. EFTPOS with currency as units. No need for cash to change hands at all.
Anyway, some may pass him off as just another religeous kook on the Doomsday trip. BUT! Just keep your eyes and ears open for the signing of a SEVEN YEAR peace treaty between Israel and Mid-East nations.

p.s. Ever wonder why countries with Atomic weapons only ever test them at
the same times as they did every other time they tested them? Ever wonder
why this weapon has only been used once (2 bombs) in a war? Read Smith's
books and the answer is so obvious it's laughable.
Subject: A state in distress
I for one cannot continue to hear every day that another innocent elder member of this community has suffered at the hands of Richard Court or the Attorney General Peter Foss. Have these men totally lost the plot?, I think not.
The shear arrogance of Richard Court is I believe producing such a ground swelling of emotion that if it were not Australia I would think we are headed for a revolution.
I may not be eloquent with my words, but I have a mother and a grandmother who God bless them have lived their lives, paid their dues and should not be threatened with this violent condition we are faced with. The judicial system is completely out of date.
How easy it is to send in the juvenile to commit the crime. Hey they get off with a slap on the hand.
The latest one the other day was a 82 year old women who returned to her house to be confronted with two aboriginal girls, one about 9 years old and the other one in her teens. Not satisfied that the woman had no handbag, one of them proceeded to wrap cloathing around the womans head whilst placing her hands over the womans nose and mouth in an attempt to sufficate her.
Pauline I beseech you, here in Perth you have a captured audience in the seniors vote. As well those who are sympathic to their cause. Do your homework, this government has to go or at least be reined in.
Establish a platform for your western australian representatives on the issue of escalating crime in Western Australia. We are a very big state and one often forgotten by the rest of australia. I truely believe you can increase your support IF you focus on Western Australia.
If ever the time was right for an alterative government it is now.
You will most definately have my support if you prove yourself in actioning a platform on crime.
Yours Faithfully

Subject: Re Sixty Minutes
To all fellow One Nation supporters, readers of ANOTD.,and the Discussion Forum.
May I suggest to you that we all break our promises to our-selves and watch 60 Minutes just one more time next Sunday night for definately the last time and put a pen and paper beside us so we can write down the names of every Sponsor of the Silly Show and then on Monday or as soon after as possible either E-Mail or Fax or make the time to write a short note to each of those Sponsors simply telling them that we will no longer purchase or support any of their products. Don't forget to tell them it is because they Sponsor the 60 Minutes program and that we will only return to their products after they publicly announce that they will no longer Sponsor 60 Minutes.
I know that a lot of us will probably never buy a new car and we already don't use some of the products of the Sponsors but the Sponsors don't know how many of us are likely to buy one of their cars or how many of us will stop buying their products and maybe some of them may even be silly enough to laugh it all off but that would be to their own detriment because all of us who stop using their products also have influence with our families and friends and even our workmates in some cases.
Nearly every product on the market has an exact or nearly exact equivelant with simply a different Brand Name . The bigger the Brand Name the bigger the advertising budget and the more exposure to the market place and consequently the bigger the sales.
You know, most people just keep buying the same Brand by habit and don't even give the other Brand Names a go, Well in this case I think we should all show our support for One Nation by trying one of these other Brands.
If anyone can help with E-Mail addresses,Fax Numbers or Mail addresses of the relevant ' regular' Sponsors either before next Sunday{when 60 Minutes screens again}or as soon after next Sunday as possible and send it in to ANOTD. and/or the One Nation discussion forum it would be the biggest help we could get.
It is definately time for us to fight back and this way we can do it positively but passively.
Dan Stuart.
Subject: Taxpayer funds and Pauline Hanson
One Nation is being branded racist because it is selectively picking faults with the present government's misappropriation of taxpayer funds.
For example:-
This year, 1998-99, Australia's total revenue was $144.2 billion and only $1.1 billion was allocated to Public Housing.
This means that every welfare recipient living in rental accommodation is paying taxpayer money to private landlords who are, in turn, paying off their rental houses and flats with taxpayer money. Because no taxpayer money is allocated to building Public Housing taxpayers are footing the bill for landlord housing and bank interest on such housing . Banks are reaping $billions from this corrupt scheme and taxpayers are being robbed blind. It frustrates me when One Nation refuses to see the political advantage in denouncing this skullduggert which has been going on for years. The Democrats, who were supposed to keep the bastards honest, knew about this carry on years ago but they joined in the great Australian rip-off, much to their discredit. Will One Nation go the same way?
To be continued...
Tony Lee
Subject: Nation building
Who else puked at hearing Kim Beazley on ABC radio's PM programme rabbiting on about how the Labor Party stood for - wait for it - 'nation-building'. Oh yes, reacting to the threat of One Nation, Beazley is promising to build a pipeline (do stop laughing, readers, this is serious!) which will generate umpteen thousands of jobs. It obviously hasn't crossed his mind that lots of us might wonder why such a project was never policy when Labor was in office.
What a sick joke! The Labor Party was the government for 13 years and they tried their hardest to un-build the nation! Nevertheless not to be out-done, the stupid Liberals are promising a Very Fast Train between Sydney and Canberra which is also supposed to generate jobs. What jobs? The result of both governments' globalist policies is that Australia now has a shortage of tradesmen. So we will have to import skilled workers. Fat help that is to the locals on the dole.
Antonia
Four Corners Mon 3rd August:
It wasn't hard to see the force behind One Nation's rise, the hurt, incomprehension and anger.
Two comments struck me.
One was from a farmer about to leave the land. He spoke with personal admiration of his local National MP, Mr Anderson, but said he was voting One Nation.
"We have been kicked so often, we just feel like kicking back"
The second, speaking at a public meeting, complained of the raw deal received in global markets, describing them as corrupt and ridiculing the "level playing field".
The anger directed at politicians is a mixture of this desire to strike back and a belief that they are responsible for the state of the bush. But if there is recognition that the problems are in "global markets", then to what extent are 'national' political leaders responsible. Beyond the nation their power is limited.
If the markets are the problem, and if they are more powerful than our national government (ask the indonesians about that problem) it will do little good to elect politicians who will retreat into isolation. We should be demanding the creation of structures to help ordinary citizens exercise more control over these global forces.
The problem with globalisation is not that we have a global economy, but the type of global economy.
One that is corrupt, one that is not level, one that lacks regulation, and over which there are no democratic controls.
The damage to our national economy from the unfettered greed of the economic "entrepeneurs" of the 80's caused immense damage within the Australian economy.
Must we go through a global economic catastrophe, perhaps precipitated by collapse of the Japanese financial sector, before we demand an end to the international corporate cowboys.
Government has a role to play in rural Australia, in public utilities and infrastructure. Does it not also have a role in global market regulation?
That most successful market speculator, George Soros, has put the view from the belly of the beast very clearly:
"The received wisdom of economic theory is that markets
tend towards equilibrium. This may be true for the market for ordinary goods
and services but it's emphatically not true for the financial markets. Because
equilibrium implies a pendulum which will always return to the same point
however far you remove it from the equilibrium, it always comes to rest in
the same place. That's not how markets work. And we are witnessing such a
process today. It was unleashed in Thailand and it's not behaving like the
pendulum, it's more like a wrecking ball which is swinging from country to
country and knocking over one economy after another. It's scary because we
don't understand what's going on. I think it's fair to say that nobody really
anticipated the events which have unfolded...Market fundamentalism doesn't
work. We have the IMF, the World Bank, the BIS, without them the system would
have fallen apart already, but they were designed for different conditions
so I think we ought to go back to the drawing board and do some serious
re-thinking."
-George Soros, speaking at the World Economic Forum, Davos.
If thats the view from the big money end of town, delivered to an audience which included the Packer and Murdoch lads, it can hardly be dismissed as bolshie propoganda.
Another perfect day in paradise.
Have a good one.
