The comment below is fairly typical of the feedback received.
There is now speculation as to whether Pauline Hanson will demand an apology from 60 Minutes as the basis of the story was a comment that Emily Lau attributed to Hanson that " the yellow race will one day rule the world". It has since been confirmed that she has never made the comment and the credibility of Channel Nine's leading current affairs programme will be on the line next Sunday if they refuse to apologise.
Is it any wonder Hanson said during the programme, "60 Minutes is a dirty word to me". Well said - Pauline!
With the change in the Oxley boundaries ex-premier of Queensland Wayne Goss has now confirmed that he will put his name forward as a candidate for the seat for the Australian Labor Party. There is a catch though - if the seat is realigned following an appeal by the Ipswich Business community (as the realignment cuts Ipswich right down the middle) he will back-off as Hanson would regain her advantage.
Nice one Wayne, your true colours are showing through!
Yesterday the former leading Labor light, Ann Scott, renewed her attack on Wayne Goss saying that he was being undemocratic by allowing senior party members to publicly back his pre-selection bid.
Pauline Hanson is unfazed by Goss' drive following the realignment saying that it will not effect her decision at the next Federal Election. Interesting that Ms Hanson now lives in the new seat of Blair.
Foreign Minister Alexander Downer is looking at establishing closer military ties with Vietnam and China as a key plank in a long term regional security strategy. Downer has also confirmed that talks are underway on a similar basis with the Philippines and Thailand.
"The first sessions of the new dialogues will be scheduled over the coming year. The talks will involve high-level Australian officials from both foreign and defence ministries," Downer said.
"Australia now has bilateral security linkages, in one form or another, with most countries of the East Asia/Pacific region."
After watching the premeditated hatchet-job done on Australia, by someone of the stature of Emily Lau,
on 38 Mins. its clear to me we have only ONE rational immigration policy option left to implement:
PULL UP THE DRAW-BRIDGE!!
Despite Australia having the WORLD'S most generous
& non-discriminatory immigration & resettlement program,
& without doubt, the Region's - & perhaps the world's - most
open & tolerant society; we are cold-bloodedly pilloried & vilified
as racists by Asia's best known journalist, accompanied by
an enthusiastic chorus of leading opinion-brokers in the region.
As a trainer in IT & business English communication
skills, both in Asia & Sydney, I have had whole classes of highly
educated mainland Chinese students earnestly explain to me that
Han Chinese are the "superior" & "most evolved" race, (citing mostly
their relative hairlessness as evidence); I've had Koreans (all male)
earnestly explain to me that Koreans are the world's most intelligent
race, (backed-up by the Guinness Book of Records!) & of course the Japanese
have their spectacular economic success to cite as evidence of their
"superiority"; although, curiously they seemed, in my experience, to
be far less racist than the former two. I have never heard ethnic Thais
speak in racist terms, nor any of the Malay peoples of SE Asia, despite
having many in my classes.
Isn't claiming racial "superiority" a form of racism??
Why is it that the NE Asians are continuously criticising Westerners in general &
Australians (in my experience the world's LEAST racist people), in particular, for
being RACIST yet their own racialist attitudes are never placed under the
spotlight, least of all by themselves.....please explain.....
Subject: Australia`s Pol Pot
When is it going to occur to the Labor Party that they only have
themselves to blame for the shift of their votes to Pauline Hanson?
Surely even the dumbest Labor M.P must have suspected that Robert
Tickner's handling of the Hindmarsh Bridge fiasco could be hammering the
last nail in Labor`s coffin. Or that Brownnose Evans might have kissed
one Asian arse too many.
Certainly Labor has always stood for idealism, but so did Pol Pot; as my
old mother used to say: `The road to hell is paved with good
intentions.`
When our Weeping Willy-wagtail, (I wouldn`t call him a hawk) gave away
Ayres Rock to a minority group of Australians, that was the thin edge of
the wedge, which was to ultimately cause a divided Australia. MABO and
W.I.K merely added injury to insult - as does multiculturalism and
political correctness. All these evils were released from Pandora`s box
by Labor, Pauline Hanson is merely trying to close the lid before
Australia is completely annihilated by the freed demons of divisiveness.
It will be a sad day for democracy if Labor does defeat ONE NATION by
aligning themselves to the types of extreme groups who are attempting to
prevent Pauline Hanson speaking or allowing her supporters to attend
meetings without harassment. If Labor persists in this desperate
alliance then it is to be hoped they drop the honest word `labour`
altogether and call themselves ` The Beazley-Hitler Youth Movement` or
something equally appropriate to the scum they are mixing with.
Labor really only has one hope of ever regaining the support of the great
majority and that is to swing in behind this courageous lady who so
proudly espouses all the causes the old Labor Party fought for. The
likes of Ben Chiefly and Cocky Caldwell would stand up and cheer if they
could hear Pauline speaking of the ideals of One Nation.
Look back at your history, you sad clowns of today's Labor, and revive
the times of real Labor men before buffoons like Whitlam, Hawk and
Keating drowned Australia in emotional claptrap and crocodile tears.
If ever Labor is to rise from the ashes of utter defeat the only way to
emulate the Phoenix is to adopt the Pauline Hanson policies word for word
and let Australia`s Evita lead them back to the Promised Land.

Australia now lead 2-1 in the series.
One could be mistaken for thinking that this was a warm spring day, but for the cold night with temperatures dropping to about 7 degrees celcius overnight.
