International:

Pauline Hanson's Federal seat of Oxley is to be split down the middle in the realignment of seats in Queensland by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC). The AEC realignment will make Oxley a safer Australian Labor Party seat, taking in a large number of Aboriginal and Asian voters in the seat of Inala.

The new seat of Blair would be a better bet for Ms Hanson as it takes in a large rural area - with pastoralists and farmers being disenchanted with the National Party - the party they traditionally support.

The idiocy of the Ipswich Anti-Racism Committee (IARC) (associated with the Brisbane Anti-Racism Campaign) and the media in promoting the myth that Hanson is behind all things racially inspired again raised its ugly head yesterday with a spokesman for the IARC saying yesterday that it was now time to monitor the extent of the problem and "to stop its spread".

"We are aware of a lot of unpleasant things happening to Aborigines and Asians," Mr Arndt said in a bigoted comment which completely overlooked the fact that most assaults in Ipswich are orchestrated by Aboriginal youths against whites.

He referred to an "anonymous" event, where a woman with an Aboriginal husband was allegedly verbally abused in a mall in Warwick because she was married to a non-white.

This morning I spoke to a duty constable at the Ipswich Police who said that about 90% of assaults were by Aborigines against whites and about 10% the other way around. When asked if racially inspired attacks were on the rise, he replied, "Not at all".

Isn't it funny that the Queensland Times who led with the comments "Pauline Hanson inspired racial incidents were on the rise...." and did not make the single phone call to the Ipswich police to establish up the true state of affairs!

Prime Minister John Howard has been taken to hospital suffering from severe pneumonia. Howard, who turns 58 today, has cancelled a chance to meet with New Zealand Prime Minister tonight at the international Wallaby All Black Bledisloe Cup in Melbourne.

A spokesman for Mr Howard said, "Earlier this week Mr Howard was suffering from bronchitis and the flu but late today the diagnosis was that this had developed into pneumonia."

It appears that Mr Howard's refusal to take a rest while sick contributed to his condition.

The word is that Alan Bond should have kept his mouth shut... but following the overturning of the conviction on fraud by the court against his mate of the 80s, Brian Burke, earlier this week, he decided to challenge the "harsh" sentence he received for stealing Au$1.2 billion.

His appeal led to a counter appeal with the Federal Director of Public Prosecutions, Brian Martin, saying that the public were shocked to hear that Bond was sentenced to only 4 years for Australia's largest recorded theft and that the sentence should be extended.

Bond, who is now 59 and married to Diana Bliss after divorcing his first wife Eileen, immediately dropped his appeal saying that he felt that the sentence was fair.

But now that the cat is out of the bag it looks like Bond might be spending even more time at the West Australian Karnet prison farm.

Pauline Hanson jump station.

Political:

Federal Treasurer Peter Costello has urged banks to allow people to pay less off their mortgages following recent interest rate falls.

Costello said on Channel Seven last night, "Sometimes when rates come down, what the banks do is they just shorten the term of the loan. I'd say to anybody who wants to get a bit of a discount out of their repayments, go and see your bank and ask that the repayments be dropped if you want a bit of extra cash in your pockets."

The Australian Bankers Association executive director Mark Addis said last night that Costello was technically correct, "Banks offer people the choice of shortening the loan and saving on interest repayments or paying reduced rates.

"But the treasurer needs to be very careful that he doesn't inadvertently give people the impression that taking cash savings from lower repayments is somehow necessarily better than shortening the term of the loan and saving on interest-free payments."

Yesterday, despite forecasts that it would, the Reserve Bank did not drop the official interest rate meaning that no adjustment will take place until next month.

Subject: Media and the Truth

Ms Hanson's ways are always truthful, and can not be ignored by the "average" Aussie, these so called "protesters" don't know what they are carrying on about, and before long, if they'd care to get it into their heads, Ms Hanson will have the whole of Australia backing her, just you watch... By the way Pauline, you're the ONLY person I've ever seen with this much courage, and enough "power" to stand up for yourself! hang in there, your time will come,

All I can say is that the fact that you have Pauline Hanson's Page on your web server is not very good advertising for your services.

you have certainly detered me for using your services.

Sport:

No surprise that Australian cricket captain was out for another duck in Australia's first innings of the fourth test in the Ashes series at Headingly.

I gave up long ago wondering why he was actually in the team - except noting the obvious that as captain he is one of three selectors.

Personal trivia, from the global office:

Another beautiful day in paradise.

Have a good one.
