"I'd just like to thank everyone who was involved in my rescue, the fire brigade and all the rescue services, along with the medical teams at Thredbo and here in Canberra. And to all the people who have prayed for me and given me so much support over the last couple of days. It's been overwhelming and I don't think I would have made it through without the involvement of all those people. You've been fantastic and thanks very much."
The words of the miracle man - experts claiming that his chances of survival were just one in a million.
Police now say that tonnes of earth from the landslide above the Bimbadeen Ski lodge literally cut it in two with the section that Stuart Diver was found in being carried down the hill as the Carinya Lodge from above and tonnes of earth slammed into it. The remaining half of Bimbadeen apparently just collapsed into a heap under the tonnes of soil and mud, staying pretty well where it was.
The greatest danger to ongoing rescue attempts and the search for more bodies is the threat of rain. Since the collapse on Wednesday night lady luck being with the rescuers as the skies have stayed blue.
Ten people are still to be recovered from the Bimbadeen Lodge.
In this case Beazley is now saying that the current front runner for the seat of Oxley, Wayne Goss, could be a future contender for the leadership of the federal Labor Party in the future.
Speaking on Seven Network's Face to Face programme Beazley said that Goss would be assured a front bench position if elected to Federal Parliament.
Now there could be some good reasons why, maybe when Mal Colston starts blowing the whistle on his ex-Labor mates, as he has threatened to do, they will need someone who has had good shredding experience.
This story still has to break in the mainstream media. and it will.... there is a lot of interesting developments taking place in the background. The citizens of Sydney will probably be the first city in Australia to read about it - make sure that you get your Sydney Morning Herald.
Somehow, in the case of Wayne Goss, I think that their is many a slip twixt cup and lip... in this case. perhaps this letter to the editor in today's Courier Mail sums it up quite nicely:
Oxley like a one-act play:
(CM) "A lot of people want you to run for Oxley. Will you?"
(WG - Wayne Goss) "No, they deserve a local candidate. Beside I stand four square behind affirmative action."
(CM) "But they've changed the boundaries."
(WG) "Oh well that's different. I'll probably run after all."
(CM) "Why?"
(WG) " Well it's winnable now."
(CM) "But you're still not a local identity."
(WG) "That's not relevant now."
(CM) "Why is that?"
(WG) "Well it's winnable now."
(CM) What is Ms Hanson succeeds in getting some boundary changes?"
(WG) "Well that would be different. They'd deserve a local candidate again, I would think. And there's still affirmative action to be considered."
(CM) "What's your major consideration?"
(WG) Well that I get a sure thing of course."
(CM) "It's not a big vote of confidence for Mr Beazley that you won't take a marginal seat."
(WG) "But it's what's best for the country that has to be considered."
(CM) "And getting you to Canberra is what's best you think?"
(WG) "Definitely. From where I stand certainly."
(CM) "Is there any last comment you would like to make?"
(WG) "Well I'm a great student of history. You might sum it up saying "L'etat c'est moi'."
Letter from Colin Lamont of Camp Hill.
Reports and interviews in The Courier Mail (CM) over the past few weeks have the makings of a great one act play that could go something like this:
However experts are now already talking up interest rates saying that they could once again start climbing in 1998.
HI,
Thanks for your email, there is a considerable backlog of link
requests at the moment. All other mail is read and dealt with as
promptly as possible.
With regard to the Politics listing you have requested, SpringBoard
currently lists major established parties, (ie those with seats in
parliament) and a fairly comprehensive listing of political commentary
sites, including the ADFA site which lists a large number of parties.
As you are no doubt aware, there are a very large number of registered
political parties, many of whom have little or no electoral base, it
is not SpringBoard's intention to provied a definitive listing of
parties. By listing the Hanson site I would have to list the Say No to
Hanson site and on it goes.
I have been in touch with the Electoral Office whose responsibility it
is to provide accurate and current listings of Political Parties, with
a request that they provide the definitive listing of parties and
their official representatives on the internet.
As regards suggestions of political motives, your sites are noted for
their extreme right wing position which is why you would perhaps find
an informative and balanced site like SpringBoard of concern.
For your information Rodney Campbell is a contributing editor for
Technology, Telecommunications and the Internet.

There are only two comments I would like to make here:
One for the Telstra file:
When I tried to register Pauline Hanson's One Nation on Telstra's Springboard this is the response that I got:
