Within a few years Murdoch was acting as the front-man for media buy- ups financed by Oppenheimer and Bronfman, as well as being helped by the conman Armand Hammer and the Rothschild empire. This almost limitless financial backing is the real force behind Murdoch's mercurial rise to control, among his other media interests, a yearly newspaper circulation of 3.5 billion copies.

International tax expert Tim Edgar says multinationals are in a position where the decision to pay taxes becomes almost voluntary.

"It's certainly an apocalyptic vision of countries and really becomes a game where governments are constantly playing with two hands tied behind their backs," Edgar says.

It would be hard to design a taxation system worse than Australia's.

One example: for $100 of pre-tax company profit earned in Australia, the Australian Government now collects, at the most, only $36 dollars from a foreign shareholder while it collects $48.50 from Australian shareholders.  That leaves the Australian investor 33% worse off than the foreign investor!  So the Australian taxpayers subsidise foreign investors!

It is no wonder foreign owned companies are able to buy so many Australian icons.

Understanding viruses

One more thing about viruses. There's a lot of confusion about what can hold a virus and what cannot. Here's a rule of thumb. If the file can _do_ something, it may hold a virus; if the file has to have something done to it, it can't. For instance, if the file is a program file, it may hold a virus because program files _do_ things (like Michaelangelo). But if it's just plain text, another program has to do something to it -- a word processor or text editor has to open it and display it. A text file doesn't do anything, it has things done to it, so it's safe.

Of course there's some overlap. A Word for Windows file, although a file that has to be opened by another, also has built in "program" capabilities. Through use of macros Word files can actually do things, so they may contain viruses (like Melissa). On the other hand, .gif and .jpg files are graphic files that do nothing on their own -- they have to be opened by another program -- so they're safe.

NATO Rains Terror on Serb Civilians (new photos, diary); Another "Stealth" F-117 Downed Today?

BELGRADE, Apr. 5 - While Clinton continues to hide the truth about the U.S. casualties from the American people, Serbs have no place to hide as NATO rains terror on civilian targets.

Last night, for example, NATO missiles struck downtown Zemun, for the first time. Zemun is the west-most suburb of Belgrade on the river Danube. Scores of other civilian targets across Serbia were also hit.

Among the casualties of last night's bombing is the Internet service in Belgrade, which has been disrupted, if not completely knocked out, according to a Belgrade source with whom we spoke this evening.

But while NATO is terrorizing the Serb civilians, the Yugoslav military still seems to have plenty of punch left in it. According to one of our sources, 31 NATO aircraft had been downed as of yesterday. And this evening, Serb TV claimed another "Stealth" F-117 bomber "kill." NATO has refused comment on the story.

Russian S-FOR Battalion in Serbia Now; Volunteers in Belgrade

BELGRADE, Apr. 5 - One of our sources in Serbia has reported that a Russian battalion, which used to be a part of S-FOR forces in Bosnia under NATO command, as provided by the Dayton agreement, has been pulled out of Bosnia and is now based in Serbia.

Other sources report that thousands of Russian volunteers have already reached Belgrade, although the actual number could not be confirmed.

Russian Foreign Minister Lashes Out against NATO; Yeltsin's Appeasement Policy toward Washington Reversed

WASHINGTON, Apr. 4 - Amid the finger-pointing which has already started in Washington, in light of the disastrous consequences of Clinton's attack on Serbia, the Washington Post reported Sunday on its front page that another, perhaps greater disaster is looming half a world away. The Russian Bear has awakened and is starting to growl angrily.

"It's a full-blown crisis, the first real crisis since the end of the Cold War" in Russian-U.S. relations, said Sergei Rogov, director of the Institute for the Study of the U.S. and Canada in Washington. "It covers economic relations, foreign credits, debts, sanctions, arms control, START II, the ABM treaty and, I am afraid, a few others.

"It's a bad crisis which could have very long-term implications for Russian-American relations, producing something between disengagement, 'cold peace' and maybe even something more serious," he also said.

The rhetoric in Russia has been "white-hot," the Post says, with Russian leaders accusing the United States and NATO of "genocide" in Yugoslavia, of supporting Kosovo Albanian separatists with "narco money," of seeking world diktat, and of using the Balkans as a proving ground for new, high-technology weapons.

And some analysts worry that sentiments are so strong that anti-American reactions could spin out of control. "In August, we saw the collapse of Yeltsin's market-reform policy and in March, we saw the collapse of Yeltsin's foreign and security policy," another Washington analyst told the Post.

"What you have today is, the anti-American sentiment is enormous," said Rogov, of the U.S.-Canada institute.

In a nationwide survey last week, the Public Opinion Foundation, one of Russia's leading polling organizations, found overwhelming opposition to the NATO attacks. The group reported that 92 percent of those surveyed were against the NATO bombing, and only 2 percent supported it.

Unilateral Easter Ceasefire Announced by Belgrade, But Mad Bombers Vow to Continue; Belgrade Academia Link Hands as "Human Shields" to Protect Bridge

PHOENIX, Apr. 6 - Yugoslav government ordered its forces this evening to observe a unilateral ceasefire in Kosovo as "gesture of good will" to mark the Orthodox Easter, which falls on this weekend. But our Mad Bomber in Washington was quick to denounce such "half measures," and vowed to continue bombing Serbia.

Indeed, at 8:10PM local time in Serbia, 10 minutes after the announced ceasefire was to go into effect, air raid sirens wailed in Belgrade heralding another night of NATO attacks, the Bloomberg newswire reported.

Faculty members of the Belgrade University said they would serve as "human shields" linking hands across the Brankov bridge across the river Sava. The academicians said they would stay on the bridge "all night if necessary."

Taking a cue from Washington, in London, the British defense ministry snubbed Belgrade's Easter gesture as a "grubby kind of an offer."

In Germany, the Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder called the move "insufficient."

In Paris, French president, Jacques Chirac went on television to denounce the Belgrade regime as "monstrous."

Victims of politically correct ideology

After reading about the Aboriginal thugs from Ipswich in @notd, 6th April, I feel dismayed at the ignorance of many Australians who still can’t see the realities of crime among the Aboriginal community. I was just having a chat with a young woman the other day who started telling me how terrible "racism" is in the country towns she has visited. Of course, the line of her discussion assumed the evil white redneck was to blame.

We now have practically a whole generation with their blinkers on, parroting their teachers’ phrases about the evils of the white man, preaching diversity and tolerance while spurning anyone whom dare speak the truth. Sadly, many of the middle aged "Chardonnay left" joyously stand up on a soapbox spreading myths from their confused minds, indoctrinating mainstream Australians. Many of these so-called experts have never lived in rural Australia or in the working class suburbs with their much-cherished cultural diversity.

The truth of the matter is that the victims are diverse and numerous in number. The root cause is, broadly speaking, "the system". Many individuals make up this system, often being victims themselves as well as perpetrators of the continuing malignancy. School children protesting at the anti-Hanson rallies are fine examples of these perpetrating victims. Aboriginals caught in a poverty trap from excessive government handouts are victims. Mums and Dads and their families are victims from high levels of crime. Shop owners are victims from theft and vandalism. Most members of society are actually victims of this "politically correct" malignancy, including many of the perpetrators, but only a few of the perpetrators are actually negligent. These negligent few holding influential positions are the root cause of the problem. They have all the data and evidence of social mayhem in front of them, but choose to perpetrate this ugly ideology for their own selfish ends.

I feel most for the victims who are condescendingly belittled as simplistic or some other mindless term because they dare to speak the truth.

Pauline Hanson was a person who dared to question the status quo. Those who preached tolerance gave Pauline no tolerance. In fact, they resorted to primary school taunts and would disregard anything she had to offer on "moral grounds" or "principle". They had contempt for her limited formal education and mocked her mannerisms.

I am well educated, but am pleased that I am not uppity or snobbish, and I would not dismiss anyone’s opinions purely because they have a limited formal education. Life’s experiences are also a form of education and I know many ordinary Australians would have a totally different set of experiences from our so-called intellectuals.

Thanks to the PC apartheid of Multi-Culturalism and Aboriginal extremism that is being forced upon our society, racism is growing. That murderous Aboriginal gang in Ipswich is just another example.

All too real

Many years ago now, my father's photographic studio, shot eleven weddings in one weekend. The plane, which was carrying the film went down. He was told that there was nothing left at the crash site. He and a friend decided they would go look for themselves. They chartered a plane, but were forced to land quite a distance away. They trekked for about an hour through dense bush, and came to the clearing where the plane was. It was charred, but heavy rain had put the spot fires out. Still, there were pieces of human remains hanging from tree branches, and quite unbelievably, the pilots watch was still ticking. Another mindless tragedy really - The pilot was moonlighting from Qantas. Anyway, it is something that Dad still thinks about now - It gives one a sense of perspective when you have seen another man's intestines strewn across terrain.

He, however, entered that situation by choice (from a business point of view, the trip was a success - 75% of material recovered.) After reading "When Racism is Not" (@notd - 6/4/99) I wonder how it would effect ones life to find yourself confronted with such an attrocity. It would be interesting to know what percentage of people who have witnessed bashings and murders end up with a mental illness themselves.

Sign of the times - Who would have thought that by just walking down the street you could witness a drug deal, bashing, murder and mardi gras....

Sadly, all in the same night too.

Are you a target? Will you becom a victim?

....And do you just wanna be another statistic? Criminological statistics indicate that burglaries, home invasions and unlawful entries rose by nearly 5% in 1997 _alone_. Translated, that means (somewhere in Oz) there is a burglary, home invasion or unlawful entry every 96 seconds. The overwhelming majority of offenders are drug-addicts. It is, therefore, more likely than not that they will be in a drug-induced psychotic state and, hence, capable of committing any sort of crime or atrocity(frankly, I'd rather take my chances with the local drunk!).

The New Gun Laws mean that _crims_ are getting bolder and bolder. They are no longer deterred by the possiblity that a house-holder may be armed and prepared to use arms(the laws prohibiting owning firearms for self-defence, and using them for same, have seen to that!). Those who had owned guns(legally) have either handed them in during 'amnesties', sold them, buried them or have them stored in not easily accesible safes and 'strong-rooms'. Those who had owned guns illegally(the _crims_) still have them and may just use them on YOU!

So: do you want your house/unit/flat trashed, your property stolen (less than 10% of property is recovered), your peace of mind shattered and maybe even your life and the life of your family threatened, if not endangered? Your only options are to spend up _big_ on security features(the only sure 'deterrents': security doors and windows, silent alarms to a security company and guard dogs) and insurance premiums. Can't afford all that? Tough! That only leaves you with the 'politically correct'/fairy floss characters calling themselves 'police': too scared to upset their politically correct masters by moving on gangs of vicious thugs terrorising people in the streets becuase said thugs are a darker shade of pale!

Wotz left? My suggestion: start applying for firearm licences on the basis of self-defence. Correction: make that semi-automatic firearms. Why? Ease of use, firepower and deterrent value. No go? Now how did I know you'd get 'knocked back'? I must be psychic or something. Next step?(after your home/unit/flat is burgled...or someone's you know is burgled, or whatever) sue, SUE, _SUE_! Thatz right, folks: sue these scum! Sue them blind, deaf and stupid! Your life, liberty and happiness has been violated and endangered. The grounds: reckless endangerment, criminal negligence, reckless homicide...anything else you can think of! The same rules apply: represent yourself(for a few hundred bucks) and let _THEM_ wheel out all the QCs, barristers and solicitors they like. Total cost for you(win, lose or draw): $few hundred; Total cost for them(win, lose or draw): $few hundred thousand, if not $few million;

Aboriginal descendancy

Tomorrow Night (Wednesday) on A Current Affair with Mike Munro

they are advertising to be doing a story on checking people's "aboriginality"

the brief advert at the end of tonight's edition asked the question "How many generations does it go until you are no longer aboriginal?"

they will speak about the benefits of being aboriginal.

I usually find that this program is Pro-Aboriginal, but for them to do a story like this to highlight the additional benefits that aboriginals recieve "just because they are aboriginal, not on a needs basis" it is very unusual.

I eagerly wait to watch for the CATCH!

Oz held hostage by terrorist NWO!

Despite the fact that the guvmint adamantly maintained that they would be admitting no, repeat _NO_, Kosovan refugees (and rightly so! Oz is totally unconnected with this NWO-instigated atrocity. We have no:
[i]troops in Kosovo;
[ii] intention(as of yesterday!) of sending any troops to Kosovo;
[iii] direct military connection with the happenings there. Furthermore,Oz is _NOT_ a member of NATO and is geographically, politically and socially isolated from the region. The only place further away is Antartica!.)

We may well ask, in the light of this, why Johnny Coward, Timid Tim, Phil Rubbish & Alexander Downers have just caved into the NWO terrorists and agreed to admit 4000 Kosovan ‘refugees’? This should be enough to !!!!_WAKE UP_!!!!! the great unwashed( that massive slab of zombified, apathetic idiots out there who couldn’t give a toss about anything as long as there’s meat pies, cans of VB and the footy) that the ELECTED GOVERNMENT OF THIS COUNTRY IS NOT RUNNING THE COUNTRY. One wonders how long it would have been before F117 ‘stealths’ appeared on the Oz horizon on some flimsy pretext(the preamble to the Constitution? The Ten Point Plan?) if we had to have continued to refuse an influx of potentially lethal maniacs? What may the ordinary citizenry of Oz now expect? How many of these so called ‘refugees’ are fanatical, suicide-bombing Muslim nutcases? What guarantees do we have that they will not be detonating bombs on public transport? The bleated assurances coming from Johnny Coward, Phil Rubbish and Alexander Downers that this is only a "temporary ‘humanitarian’ measure" is just so much transparent _WAFFLE_. Expect them(and probably more later!) to become permanent residents...or as good as: once they have retained the services of ‘politically correct’ lawyers and exhausted every legal avenue of appeal and representation to the Immigration Department, Federal and High Courts and Immigration Minister to _the_full_...a process of several years all paid for by the long-suffering Oz taxpayer! It begs the question,if the boot had been on the other hoof, whether the guvmint would have been so quick to accept an influx of white, European, Christians?

When will the people of Oz _WAKE UP TO THEMSELVES_ and wrest this country back from the NWO-dictators currently running it?
