Australia enters a bright new age

Yesterday the voice of the people spoke loud and clear.

23% of Queenslanders placed their primary votes with Pauline Hanson's One Nation a phenomenal result for a fledgling party.

The heros were clearly Heather Hill and David Oldfield. It goes without saying that Pauline Hanson is the phenomenon, but the move here was away from Pauline to what Oldfield was to refer to as "rag tag" team of people with little or no political experience...

And so it was.

People who had never had any desire to be involved in politics were now elected into parliament on the rising tide of resentment against the major parties.
