Little Johnny Howard to dance to One Nation's tune
There is a growing argument that One Nation and its members and supporters represent the only non-racist mainstream political party in this country. All the other parties have sold their souls to minority and multicultural groups while the bankrupt status of the Australian Labor Party in Victoria has resulted in that party become little more than a mouthpiece for big business.
The powerful mix of business and interest groups has resulted in corruption that flows right through our political system with the resulting disaffection by the average Aussie leading to the incredible growth of the One Nation Party.
This is a party that we are told with monotonous regularity is dying, ill-informed and "populist".
One Nation is a contradiction in terms - the contradiction being inflicted by biased media reporting who keep on trying to swat this annoying little fly which buzzes around threatening the cosy relationship that they have with media heavyweights through their well-placed lobbyists.
They are aware that one of the first casualties of a One Nation balance of power in parliament will be media ownership. It goes without saying that Murdoch and Packer will be forced to free up journalism in Australia allowing journalists a real choice in career and reporting. Such is the hold that these media-cretins of our world have over their employees that even the fact that ethical reporting will become a reality under a One Nation government cannot be debated by them.
Thus the contradictions flow on with recent examples of the panic-stricken chiefs of staff of The Courier Mail trying to dump a bucket on the Liberal Party for directing preferences to One Nation ahead of the Labor Party while Howard runs in the face of these totally ridiculous and unethical statements in that paper by saying that he would go out to "woo" the "racist, bigoted, troglodytes" who, according to News Limited, make up One Nation's support base.
Yesterday Federal Attorney-General Daryl Williams said while on a visit to Brisbane, "I think the One Nation party has some very misguided policies and I wouldn't be giving them high priority in general terms but the strategy for election should be the one best-designed to get the Coalition re-elected."
Why misguided one needs to ask. are we misguided to be concerned about the sell-off of our public assets to foreigners? Are we misguided to question where native title is taking us? Are we misguided to challenge issues like the MAI?
John Howard had this to say in response to the bile spewed out by The Courier Mail over the last few days:
"We will be directing a specific message to One Nation supporters pointing out that the positive things that they want and believe in we can deliver more effectively than anybody else without the baggage of the negatives that she brings.
"Obviously her supporters are concerned about support for the bush and the regions, well, we can do that better than anyone else.
"In other words, if you are a person who thinks that some of the policies she is espousing is the answer, then we can provide a far more effective answer but without the negatives."
The above statements are particularly interesting because they highlight just one thing. The influence of the media to distort the truth.
The issue that disturbs me most is that the Liberal Party have a war chest of over Au$5 million to promote their propaganda to the masses in the lead up to the next election. Nearly all of this has come by way of an anonymous "loan" given to the party on the never-never basis while the creditor is not disclosed because of "business confidentiality".
There is no better example of the ruthless nature of the current "system" than comparing the media's response to letter in the Queensland Times on the 6th January 1996 which resulted in the "racist" tag labelling and Pauline Hanson being disendorsed by the Liberal Party and, just over 12 months later, John Howard's statements to the graziers at Longreach:
(See attached image of article that appeared
in the
Singapore Strait
Times yesterday. This article perpetuates the myth created by the
Australian media following the publication of Hanson's Queensland Times letter.)
The statements in black are those made by John Howard at Longreach last month.
Oh, how the Liberal Party reveal their true colours...
Pauline Hanson letter: "I would be the first to admit that many years ago the Aborigines were treated wrongly but in trying to correct this they have gone too far..." John Howard at Longreach: "I think that what has happened in this country is that we had a pendulum of Aboriginal affairs that was over here and I think that it has swung too far over in this direction particularly because of the Wik decision and what I am trying to do is to bring it back into the middle and I think that that is where it ought to be." Pauline Hanson letter: "I don't feel responsible for the treatment of Aboriginal people in the past because I had no say but my concern is for their future." John Howard at Longreach: "I do not believe in intergenerational guilt when it comes to Aboriginal affairs. I am aware of the history of this country. I am aware of the fact that the indigenous people were here first. I do not exhibit a sense of shame for what our forebears did." Pauline Hanson letter: "How can we expect this race to help themselves when government showers them with money, facilities and opportunities that only these people can obtain no matter how minute the indigenous blood that flows through their veins and that is what causes racism." John Howard at Longreach: "I understand the resentment that the rest of Australia feel when social security services are made available to minorities that are not available to them." |
The difference between the Liberal Party and One Nation is that One Nation remains untarnished. Look at the next article to see how tarnished the tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum of politics are working behind the scenes to destroy the Australian nation.
Son of MAI waiting in the wings.
A few days ago Pauline Hanson said that the MAI was quote, "Wounded but not dead".... the web page we discovered yesterday summarises a Bill passed under Federal Treasurer Peter Costello, the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency Bill 1996 (MIGA). The 55 page document that we have acquired spells out Australia's move to a single currency after the signing of the all-important MAI and the issuing of "Special Drawing Rights" (SDR's) as we move to a global economy where the strings are pulled by high-flying financiers and our standards of living become a joke.
We will be putting this document up on the net despite the secrecy statement (see extract) below.
This is the world that the Liberal Party are trying to woo One Nation voters to.
Extracts from the Parliamentary Web Page summary on MIGA:
"The Treasurer, Mr Peter Costello, Australia's World Bank governor, signed the MIGA convention on behalf of Australia in Washington on 30 September 1996. Under the MIGA Convention Australia has been allocated 1 713 shares at a total cost of $US18 534 660. Of this amount ten percent will be paid in cash to MIGA in a once-only payment, with a further ten percent covered by a promissory note. The remainder of the cost, $US14 827 728 will be at call. The promissory note and the amount at call will be contingent liabilities for Australia, but are subject to call by MIGA only in the event that these amounts are needed to meet its obligations."
And this statement:
IRS staff are available to discuss the paper's contents with Senators and Members and their staff but not with members of the public.
Remember what the chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties, Bill Evans, (another Liberal MP) said about the MAI not being a secret?
This is the state of our Australian political system today.
And just what is the Governor-General's role in Australia?
Quote: "The Governor-General's duties are many and varied, but fall roughly into three categories: constitutional and statutory duties, formal ceremonial duties, and non-ceremonial social duties."
So what the hell is he doing as the keeper of the Constitution signing secret international treaties?
Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties brings up the "far-right" card.
The chairman of a committee investigating the proposed Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI), says many responses have been from groups like the League of Rights.
The MAI was to have been ratified in May, but has been deferred for six months.
It aims to outlaw all discrimination against international firms working in foreign countries, but Pauline Hanson's One Nation, the Democrats, Greens and other groups claim it will threaten national sovereignty. Committee chairman Bill Taylor says the MAI has generated a lot of emotional responses, including some from the right-wing group, the League of Rights.
"I think it would be fair to say that some of those form letters have come from groups who always seem to have a barrow to push in some areas," he said.
"The league of rights has certainly been mentioned. "I know a number of the names. I see their names on some of these but that said, there is a lot of genuine concern." Mr Taylor said.
Maritime Union of Australia refuse to start work
Following their succes in the High Court the MUA workers have refused to go back on the docks until the security men with the dogs who forcibly removed them leave.
The stand-off is resulting in the MUA once again taking Patrick to the Federal Court.

Extract from the Pentagon Report on the Internet:
The monopoly of the traditional mass media will erode.
No longer will the news editors and anchor persons of television networks and newspapers solely determine what the mass audience learns and thinks about current events. Raw news reports from local, national, and international news wires and alternative news sources, and from unaffiliated individual observers on the scene of events acting alone, will be accessible by all Internet users. The filtering and slanting of the news currently performed by traditional media will give way to some extent to direct consumption of unanalysed information by the mass audience, diminishing the influence now enjoyed by those media
An increasingly sceptical audience will be able to compare raw news reports with the pre-digested, incomplete, out-of-context, and sometimes biased renditions offered by television and newspapers. Some of the mass media will attempt to reassert their traditional roles on the Internet, and they will fail, because they will not have any advantage over their audience. Another consequence of this is that the average consumer of news on the Internet will have a much wider cognisance of current developments worldwide than currently, and will be more likely to have an opinion on overseas situations. This is not to say that the traditional mass media will lose their audience and become insignificant. They will continue to play a major role in the national news flow. However, they will lose considerable ground to alternative sources and alternative interpretations circulating on the Internet.
International Criminal Court next move to screwing up our identity.
The crucial issues relating to the formation of an International Criminal Court (ICC) will be discussed in Canberra today.
It is the only major world forum to discuss the implications of the court before the Diplomatic Conference in Rome is convened in June. Following the experiences of the existing international tribunals in Rwanda and Yugoslavia, experts from around the world are keen to debate the intricacies of establishing a permanent ICC.
The specific issue of whether the proposed ICC can be fully independent, efficient and strong is likely to be high on the agenda.
It is only five weeks until the issue is looked at in earnest in Rome, but the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Australian Red Cross and the Minister for Foreign Affairs Alexander Downer will host a meeting on Thursday with representatives from 20 Asia Pacific states to discuss their reaction to the creation of the court.
Timing just a bit too cute?
Comment in the MAI newsgroup... note the section in bold and then view an example of the similarity in the theme in News Limited publications just a few weeks ago.
Statement from New Zealand:
I agree with you Jeremy. Whilst our alternative press did attempt to give the MAI coverage unfortunately our mainstream papers did not apart from the odd publication of 'letters to the editor'.
An editorial from the N.Z. Herald just a week or so ago actually promoted the MAI as a logical consequential step toward globalisation (and totalitarianism).
Extreme right wing reform is promulgated daily through our media whether it be through the censored editing of T.V. news, the conservative right wing opinions of radio talkback hosts or via the major newspapers. The Universities appear to have all but given up the struggle for truth with the prescription of intensified course assessment and examination burden accompanied by the heavy debt carried by students. There is also a real element of fear among students that they will find themselves unemployable if they do not support the reforms. There is also reticence among the general population to speak out possibly for the same or similar reasons.
Unless we constantly challenge the media all hope is lost as the New Zealand government adopts the most extreme crackpot notions of right-wing conservative libertarian economic thought and theory.
The infringement of human rights in N.Z. has deteriorated so much that today I felt compelled to write a letter of complaint to the United Nations about our governments denial of the basic human right to health care, by their cutting the incomes of the already impoverished sick, invalided and disabled. The government is also fostering a hate campaign on radio and T.V. against the unemployed by the use of Goebbels-type propaganda depicting the jobless as a lazy criminal class. This, in an era of daily layoffs of hundreds and some times thousands!
The situation continues to deteriorate for the majority in N.Z., encouraged by our media monkeys dancing to the tune of our organ grinding government.
Sound familiar?

Joe,
I bet you have never even met Pauline Hanson because if you had you wouldn't be making the comments you already have. She is an extraordinary Australian who has more guts than any of the politicians in power today. I'd like you to ask yourself what the current government has done for you ? I bet if you heard her speak in person you would change your views of One Nation and what they stand for.
From someone with common sense.

To whom it may concern,
Well done on a very informative website. The issues that you have highlighted have been very helpful in putting Mrs Hanson's issues in context, thus presenting a dissenting view against the media hype that we are all constantly bombarded with.
I would like to know your views however, on one particular issue that affects me, a resident of Western Sydney, which is the selling of Australia's Wonderland to the Sungei Way Corp of Malaysia. As a result of this, one of the many changes that will be implemented will be the changing of the theme park's name from "Australia's Wonderland" to "Wonderland Sydney". I am planning to write a report on this for a news writing class, and I am very much interested in any dissenting views (if any). I have already gathered information from Wonderland representatives, and to make this a fair and unbiased report, I am now searching for dissenting views on the issue. Do you agree with these changes? I am especially interested in knowing what your opinion is on the following statement: "How would a Malaysian company possibly make Wonderland operate any better than it already is?"
Your input on this issue will be very much appreciated. Once again, congratulations on an enlightening website. Hope to keep in touch.

Dear Sir
This is an extract from yesterday's GWB News;
"In the meantime things do not look good for the men and women contracted to Patrick by the National Farmers Federation as a replacement for the sacked MUA workers."
This type of statement has been used many times before when 'scab' labour is no longer needed. The point of the matter is that their reward is always meted out by those who employed (used) them.
"The scab always falls off a sore once the wound has healed."
I feel some pity for these men and woman because they were "suckered" by the masters of deception. The promises of being a part of the "NEW IMPROVED WORKFORCE", with a pat on the back as well as a pay cheque, may have been very inviting.
But then again, it takes a certain style of character to walk into another man's job while that man is fighting for something he believes in. I believe the author Jack London has given the best description of this. Maybe GWB would print London's story of how God made the scab?

Subject: Float of NSW TAB
Dear Editor,
have you noticed the interesting detail hidden away in the financial stories about the pending float of the NSW TAB?
It seems that the NSW government have given citizen Murdoch and ex-citizen Packer a special deal that nobody else is eligible for:
"Under the float deal, TAB will issue a total of a further 50 million share to News Corp Ltd and Publishing and Broadcasting Ltd, representing ten per cent of TAB's issued shares."
All this when public demand is expected to exceed supply! The NSW is selling public assets, but limiting the public's ability to buy them back!
Is Mr Carr buying some favourable media coverage in preparation for the pending NSW election?
Maybe One Nation could issue a media release entitled: "Please Explain"!
Even more interesting - Why haven't the NSW Liberals questioned this cosy arrangement?
