Either I must be a very good betting man (which I am not - I never do) or the censorship by Australia's duopoly is so obvious that it reflects our view that the mainstream media have one purpose in life with respect to Ms Hanson and that is to discredit her as she is "not in bed with their Canberra-based lobbyists".
However I think that the "David" in this scenario is about to give the goliaths a very big fright... and the winner will be what's left of the fragile Australian democracy.
In fact I don't think, I know and this is not a prediction this is a statement of fact. Watch this space.
An interesting power-game has developed between Federal Treasurer Peter Costello and Industrial Relations Minister Peter Reith who on Sunday flagged the option of holding a plebiscite on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) while being interviewed on a national television program.
Reith told Channel Nine's Today programme on Sunday that, "...it was an idea that was floated around.
"We're obviously looking at all these ideas on it.
The slap in the face to Reith came at a Liberal and National MPs meeting yesterday at which Costello cautioned fellow MPs in speaking out about the GST.
Prime Minister John Howard was widely condemned by the Labor party yesterday for not following through on his remark that he would compare the rise of Pauline Hanson to Ku Klux Klan wizard David Duke while in the UK - but there again why should he? The damage by association has already been beaten up by the Australian mainstream media.
Foot-in-mouth Foreign Minister Alexander Downer made a personal plea for the release by the Chinese government of Australian citizen James Peng after it was yesterday revealed that he was back behind bars.
Downer met with the Chinese ambassador Hua Junduo asking for Peng's immediate release. "I reiterated to the Chinese ambassador the government's clear position that the matter is best resolved by Mr Peng's deportation from China as soon as possible."
38 year old Peng has served two years of an eighteen year sentence for alleged embezzlement charges which he claims were fabricated after he fell out with business partner Ding Peng a niece of China's late leader Deng Xiaoping.
Howard said that Australia relied very heavily on its mineral exports and that the proposed cuts were unfair, unworkable and intolerable.
British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook who was at the Earth Summit in New York said on a radio interview, "I'm sorry, Australia is part of the same globe. It also is caught up in the issue of global warming. It also will find its grandchildren affected by the consequences if we don't get on top of it and it has to play its part in ensuring we reduce carbon dioxide emissions."
Mr Howard said, "Our aluminium industry would be half its projected size, wages would fall against projections by nearly 20% by 2020 to accommodate the necessary adjustment to the economy."
Howard said that the Australia Labor Party agreed with his stance.

Out of the red outback centre, out of the rainforest green,
We come from the time of the dreaming, we come from over the sea.
With the speed of a kangaroo bounding, or the rush of a spinnaker run,
We believe in the spirit of mateship, we believe in a fair go for all,
Together we settled this far spread out land, we knew we could do it at
last,
From the rocky sea cliffs of Tasmania to the reef in the tropical sun,
One nation uniting the continent, one nation, proud and free,
Author Peter Mackay
Out of the sleepy blue mountains; we know where we have been.
This is our land of Australia, a land for you and me.
With the grace of a wild eagle soaring, the race we know can be won.
We know we can do it together, with a helping hand if you fall.
We spoke out and sought for our nationhood, we threw off the chains of
the past.
We're scattered all over Australia, but we come together as one.
One nation for all of Australia, one nation for you and me.

The mainstream media and the politicians really hold us in contempt,
don't they. Their pathetic attempt to make Pauline Hanson guilty by
association has well and truly backfired. The lady has never even
heard of Mr Duke of the Ku Klux Klan. Nor would the majority of her
supporters, who I'm sure will have their resolve stiffened by such an
insult to their intelligence and integrity. Such gutter tactics prove
that her detractors are getting desperate.
For the Queensland Liberal Party President (Everingham) to warn
"Hanson and her supporters that they could expose themselves to legal
action if their comments or actions adversely affected trade or were
clearly discriminatory" is beyond belief. It clearly shows where the
problems of this country lie - with him and his ilk.
The citizens of this country aren't allowed to comment anymore? What
are the actions that will result in legal action being taken against
Hanson supporters? Perhaps assembling for meetings? Excuse me, Mr
Everingham, but this is Australia, and we are a free people. Only
just, admittedly, but still free. And this is why migrants come here -
not to find a new Vietnam or Lebanon - but to live in Australia which
is a free country where people are allowed to dissent.
One Nation stands for that traditional freedom, and that's why Mrs
Hanson has such a substantial following. All the talk of racism is
diversionary rubbish and inflammatory media hype. The self-styled
elites of this country have been stunned to discover that the
electorate is not composed of mindless blobs who only react to
hip-pocket bribes. They thought they had us brainwashed, but they were
wrong. The people simply didn't have a voice till an accident of
history - the disendorsment of Pauline Hanson - allowed them to be
heard. Mrs Hanson has converted nobody. She just says what many have
long been thinking, and that's what has sacred the pants off the
elites. They are frightened to discover that voters think.

Extract from "your say" in the Newcastle Morning Herald 21/6/97.
Usually anonymous spokesmen in Asian countries are being quoted that
the alleged racist tag of the Pauline Hanson-led debate could affect trade,
tourism or students. Considering the manner in which most of these
countries suppress their racial minorities, is this not a case of the wok
calling the billy black?
Additional; The suppression of rites of Tibetans by China, (let's keep our
eye on Honk Kong) the suppression by the Japanese of their far northern
islander's rites. Even Malaysian government contempt for Australians, etc.
The list goes on.

Dear GWB
A very clever tactic - undermining Pauline Hanson's One Nation party by
creatging such an tatty and shoddy web site for her. Well done.

PS: It isn't a great leap from the conspiracy of media owners and
polititians to the worldwide conspiracy of Jewry is it ?
I would like to make a point:-
While every one is playing politics, damming and defaming others, those who
should be governing this country are letting this country slide into chaos.
Let just look at the economy:--
The share market is at an all time high and rising - driven no doubt by the
compulsory superannuation levee. A superannuation funds manager who had
$100,000 / month to invest last year now has $120,000 to invest because the
rate went from 5% to 6%.
With all the other bad policies this one is setting this country up for the
biggest fall this century. The return on investment in shares is now the
lowest for decades. This makes the value of shares 40 - 50% (half) what
people are paying for them, and they are still rising.
BUT The companies who's trading performance the shares are "reflecting" are
having a reduced market they can make profit from. They have to down size
(40,000 unemployment increase). The demand for the products and services of
the listed corporates is being reduced because the ordinary citizen is,
through the super funds, is funding a speculative boom and unable to spend
their full income directly on improving their own conditions - buying new
homes, improving their business, improving their standard of living etc.
Eventually - Investors have to take note of the poor performance of the
shares in dividends and the market will have the realization that the
shares are over valued. The Bust cycle must begin.
The average citizen is not fairing as well now as he was years past. The
Australian economy has not yet recovered from Keatings' recession we had to
have. Demand is still low and being deliberately made low by government
policies that reduce the average person's disposable income by forcibly
acquiring 6% of their income and transferring it to the financial
institutions.
In 20 - 40 years time when people retire the goods and services they
require will be made then, not now. There is still a requirement for a
mechanism of distribution of production to look after those who have
retired from the work force and it is "intended" that the super funds will
do this. In the mean time the financial institutions use this wealth to
purchase the assets of this country. Ordinary people will find themselves
with a reduced personal investment in their country. They will find it
increasingly difficult to own houses and businesses. Their loyalty and
national pride will also decline with this reduced personal investments.
They will have less to own and call their own that is worth them fighting
for.
Superannuation Policy is causing Australia much harm.
