International:

A senior Channel 9 producer in Queensland has been accused of breaking and entering into a woman's house to take some secret film footage. The producer, Chris Ellis, has been sacked over the claim together with leading reporter Neil Doorley.

The pair are alleged to have entered the woman's house soon after she refused to participate in a "television poll" as she left her home. The pair are alleged to have entered her house through an unlocked door, taken film footage and then confronted her later claiming "an anonymous source" had supplied information on the state of her home.

The Channel 9 staff involved in the incident are now under police investigation and a Supreme Court writ seeking damages for trespass and defamation has been lodged.

Channel 9's Queensland chief executive, Ian Muller, is personally investigating the claims.

This allegation is a new low for the television station following their blatant breach of trust on the 60 Minutes programme that we exposed earlier this week.

Pauline Hanson addressed more than 2,000 supporters at the Sunshine Coast's Kawana Community Centre last night.

Many of Ms Hanson's supporters queued for more than an hour in the rain. They included prominent Sunshine Coast business people and a few pro-gun lobbyists. There were two main groups of protesters, one headed by a Queensland University student Mohad Rahni, who failed in an attempt to break down a lattice screen in front of the hall when the police intervened, the other was attended by about 50 people - a peaceful protest organised by Sunshine Coast publisher Mark Flowers.

The hall, which normally supports 450 people was crammed full of clapping, cheering people who shouted support when Ms Hanson's principal adviser, David Oldfield, on introducing his boss said, "If we are the Nazis, who are the people outside?" - referring to the group who had tried to break in the hall.

Ms Hanson arrived an hour early and gained entrance through a side door, but on leaving at about 10pm was subject to verbal abuse by a number of protesters who hurled themselves at her car. Two protesters were arrested and a third injured as the car made its way through the group.

Dear Sir,

Firstly, with regard to the Anglican Church buying into the so-called "Hanson debate", the Anglican synod has been an advocate of Aboriginal land rights for at least 20 years. I went to an anglican school in Adelaide from the seventies to early eighties, and remember being shown anti-mining/pro aboriginal propaganda videos during chapel sessions.

I kicked up a bit of fuss, because my dad was the Chamber of Mines representative for the Aboriginal land rights bills which went through SA's parliament and House of Assembly at that time. I was threatened with expulsion, for not accepting the church's views. They only stood down when my parents threatened to write to all parents in the school, to ask their opinion.

I'm afraid at that time, I formed the view that although in general the church had the best of intentions, it is manipulated by sinister elements, aimed at brainwashing gullible christians. I am not a practicing Anglican.

It is of concern to me, that the Aborigines have turned their attack on Australia through the United Nations, and have over 60% of Australia's land mass either under claim, or already granted as Native Title. Two weeks ago, Mick Dodson launched an Aboriginal Passport. At present, the passport is not officially recognised, but that will happen in time, according to Dodson.

Make no mistake. The aborigines want to split Australia into three White homelands, and they will take the rest. You will need a passport to cross from the east to the west, and they will charge duties and fees to cross their borders. This is their vision for Australia, and it has been the case since the Communist party commenced its campaign for aboriginal rights in the early 1940's.

If anybody is interested in how this all started, I suggest they get a copy of Red Over Black, by Geoff McDonald. McDonald was a former secretary to the Australian Communist Party, who was expelled for daring to criticise.

Secondly, a bit of laconic Aussie humour in relation to Cr Soorley. It is common knowledge, Brisbane's Lord Mayor loves a flutter on the horses, and it is rumoured that when he was first elected to the position, he had a bit of a problem with some gambling debts. An old SP bookmaker told me he was known in racing circles as "the Albatross".

Why?

"Because he never settles ...."

Cheers
Brian

Subject: Hanson debate

Australia has reached a low stage of moral ethics when an Independant Member of Parliment cannot speak her mind without being pelted and abused by rabble.

A country whose tolerance of debate has reached such abysmal depths as those shown by the so called protestors at the Pauline Hanson meetings should no longer have any right to call itself a Democracy. What we have seen here, encouraged by the media and politicians alike, is a loose collection of self-interest groups whose patriotism and sense of a `fair-go` has now been entirely sacrificed to what they can milk from the system.

Politicians are of course worried about any newcomer who threatens to put a foot in their trough. Particularly an individual who puts pride of nation above commerce. The frantic attempts by our pollies,on both sides of Parliament, to smear Pauline with their own corruption - like travel rorts - merely shows how desperate they are to silence the one voice raised against The Big Sellout.

Even the churches are now joining the snarling mob trying to protect their bones from the rest of the wolfpack. One wonders if this would be the case if religion had not been coerced and subsidised by the Government into becoming a part of the welfare lobby. It`s a great pity our spiritual leaders do not confine themselves to the charity of the mind. Idealism is in short supply.

If we could penetrate the fog of prejudice and hatred for just one minute we might see in place of the Pauline Hanson bogey a lone woman on a lonely height calling out for a renewal of the patriotic fervour that once stormed the heights of Gallipoli.

Probably not! It`s far easier and much less economically threatening to join the mindless mob spitting and throwing vegetables.

Take care Pauline! When words fail to stop a Crusader bombs and bullets are the final recourse of the scoundrels.

Bill.

Subject: Thought Control

We all have our own thoughts and beliefs and they are usually gained through first hand experience or by word of mouth. The younger person will generally pick up on conversations and formulate a set of beliefs that they believe will remain for the duration. In reality, as we grow older we experience more and more and as the hectic pace of life slackens, we have more time to assess and sift through the vast amounts of information that have been drowning us for eons. Eventually we arrive at a comfortable position after having "been there and done that".

Bring on the "religious zealots, the holier than thous, the sanctimonious prigs and the righteous indignant, not to mention those that are just plain making money out of the trade in human flesh. Suddenly we find out that our lifetime of experience and our private collection of thoughts amounts to nothing and we are completely wrong.

As the father of three children who are seventh generation Australians, I was elated to hear a politician who actually put Australia first. How proud I felt when for the first time in my life I had someone actually standing up in parliament and verbalising my thoughts. My thoughts that I had spent 51 years collecting through the "school of hard knocks". Yes I admit it! I am a fully paid up member of Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party and proud of it.

Or am I?

That was until I viewed Lateline on the ABC on Thursday the 8th May 1997 and learnt some horrible things about myself. On that particular programme, a certain Professor Nancy Viviani assured me and I quote "after all it is Mrs. Hanson's supporters who are out on the streets bashing up people ... uh! ... practising racial vilification ... children in the schools who copped it also". Now I am not sure that I am the responsible husband of 25 years and father of 3 successful children, but in fact maybe as the learned and publicly funded professor eludes, in reality, a monster who is out in the streets bashing people and racially vilifying them.

What a load of crap, you pathetic would be Australians, get a bloody life .

Signed
One really pissed off Australian.

In reply to the message posted on Friday 23rd May from "A correspondent from Honk Kong". Kwliu@HK.Super.NET

Firstly, you mentioned that without asians Australia cannot integrate into asia and will not share the economic results of asia....Well it is about time you woke up my friend, because Australia is NOT PART OF ASIA and never will be, Geographicly we are part of Oceania.

And secondley, YOU ARE NOT AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN, SO SHUT UP!!!, you do not have a right to comment on anything Australia does.

So before you go whining about our politicians have a good hard look at your own.

Lachlan Bugarin
P.S. I am sure there are some people out there who disagree with me and I welcome your comments at...lbugarin@net1.nw.com.au

To our eloquent correspondent in Hong Kong,
We do not tell your politicians what to say or how to act. Would you do us the courtesy of, if not minding your own business, contributing something reasoned or rational?

To the readership,
Ms Hanson is doing a good job, if nothing else the "masses" for want of a better term are beginning to feel as if they are allowed to speak up and have a say. This is without being howled down by the "Literate Left" Media as a bigot or racist if immigration is mentioned, or the howls of "reconciliation is doomed" from the Aboriginal Leaders if ATSIC funding is mentioned.

Reconciliation always seems to be directly linked to funding. The quote above was in the West Australian when an Aboriginal leader was asked what he thought of the government's (rightful) answer that there would not be another gravy train leaving Canberra station due to the latest report about about what happened many years ago, before most of us were born.

My biggest disappointment is with the 'GayBC' once the ABC, and their slanted view at the issue. Despite being free from corporate constraints, the many ALP appointed personnel feel the need to protect their fellow Leftie friends in the public service.

Wake up Tim Fischer! The Nationals are being decimated while you dither! The Liberals can govern in their own right, we know they don't really need you, so are you going to agree with the PM to keep the ride smooth, or are you going to be fair dinkum about the rural problems? Wik-We agree with the Libs, Immigration, we agree with the Libs, Drought on the East Coast, we do nothing!

Any support Ms Hanson is getting is (mostly) from disgruntled rural people, I believe. It is time you relised you are a political party in your own right and not a branch of the Liberal Party, or do you think it would all be too hard to make a stand and listen to your constituents?

Subject: Free Speech

Pauline's supporters dictate that she is allowed to regurgitate her racist filth under the guise of free speech. But then dont protesters opposing her views have the same rights of free speech?

Is it that Pauline's supporters are discriminating between who has the right of free speech and who doesn't?.

Pauline, your intelligence is equal to that of the potatos you cook in your shop.

Business:

The Reserve Bank of Australia yesterday dropped its official interest rate by another one half percent yesterday prompting the big four banks to reduce their rates as well.

Aussie home loans again offer the lowest variable interest rate at just 6.99% while the Commonwealth and National Australia Bank will drop their variable rates by 0.35% on Monday to 7.2%.

Personal trivia, from the global office:

Another cooler day outside with cloudy skies.
