Australia has reached a very sad state of affairs when a democratically elected public figure representing a community of some 70,000 people in the seat of Oxley and whose party, One Nation, representing about 10% of the Australian population has to be protected as if she were in a third world country at war with itself.
It is about time that the young blood in the media empires a la Lachlan Murdoch and James Packer pulled their glory seeking editors and journalists into line. If they don't they will be widely recognised as the perpetrators of the crimes against journalistic ethics and as the publishers they should then be stripped of the powerful hold that they have over what Australians perceive to be the truth.
The distortion by the mainstream media of what Ms Hanson stands for is nothing short of criminal. The journalistic ethics of the past now fall well short of the mark.
The epidemic proportions of this journalistic vandalism has not escaped the attention of most Australians who now consider most journalists as having the same lack of integrity as banks and insurance representatives.
Yet the most astounding thing is that night after night after night they churn out current affair stories and day after day after day commentary attacking the credibility of others.
The Liberal and Labor party heavyweights know that the truth is being distorted and they play the role of the frenzied beast stirring up the lies and the innuendo to give them credibility... it is a sad, sad enditement of the Australia we live in today because it clearly exposes the role of the mainstream media to protect the status quo of the political system in exchange for preferential treatment to those who have the most to gain.
What hypocrites!
A letter in yesterday's Courier Mail by the vice-president of the Australian Civil Liberties Union, J P Graham from Double Bay, sums up the views of the great majority of Australians:
"We condemn the continual attempts to prevent MP Pauline Hanson holding public meetings.
"Demonstrators forced the abandonment of a meeting in Hobart and made a meeting in Newcastle prohibitively expensive for the One Nation party which needed to pay for extra security guards. Great pressure was brought to bear on venue owners in Adelaide to dissuade them from renting their venues to Ms Hanson. Her supporters had to take legal action to prevent cancellation of a booked venue.
"Forced abandonment of public meetings by abusive disruption is virtually unprecedented in Australian political history and threatens the democratic process."
For all our Asian readers we would suggest that your attention be fixed on the moves by global media barons to swallow up your media. It is not too late to take a stand against the rot that will surely follow once they have achieved this aim.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the AGB McNair report was that her policies towards immigration or Aboriginal funding was not even raised. The survey looked specifically at her "performance" based on the amount of time that she spent in her electorate.
The poll on just 301 people found that 39% would still vote for her (as opposed to 49% at the last election); a third think that she is doing a good job; a third think she is doing an average job and a third think that she is doing a poor job for her electorate.
Ms Hanson responded to the survey last night by saying, "I spend the majority of my time in the electorate, probably more than many other members.
"Unfortunately when I am out of the electorate it is so highly publicised that occasionally it appears that I am out of the electorate more than I actually am."
The person most likely to upstage Ms Hanson would be Queensland's ex-premier Wayne Goss - if he decided to stand.

Now let us remember his email to this on-line paper was totally
unsolicited.... <<
Sure there are more crimes in my area, but I don't limit myself to New York
City. I'm still trying to figure where I claimed to be a "master" that
knows all and solves all. You have been mislead by others whom call
themselves psychic. I am just a man, a man with a gift of second sight,
psychic abilities, whatever the people want to call it. I did not ask for
this ability, but I believe I was given it to help others. I have never
done palm readings, runes, tarot, etc. Instead I actively out help
Governments and other agencies solve crimes with them. When not actively
involved in the psychic detective & remote viewing end of the business, I
perform lectures and demonstrations with these abilities.
The email may have been unsolicited, but being the editor of your on-line
newspaper, you have the power of the pen. I did not type in the web news on
your site.

Old Riley's not having a good week, is he?
It's 1:30am Sunday morning and I just had a look at his home page. The
counter showed I was visitor No.1. (lucky me)
I tried these links on his page. "Acting Credits", "Live action Shots" and
"Mind Power Pages".
None of them worked. All I got was "File URL/rg-lia.htm not found on this
server" etc., etc.
One link did work though, it was:
"Australia's first daily internet newspaper's negative and skeptical
remarks".
Anyway Riley, keep battlin' old fella. You might end up scoring a job with
38 Minutes.

The immigration is not mistake for the society violence . I am a migramt
living in Brisbane.I coundn't agree what Pauline Hanson said .The
foreign investment can help Australia economy . In Australia , there are
few industries for producing the equipment therefore you must relay the
Asian imports . As a result this , Australian have to know the
importance of Asia . In addition , the unemployment is made up by
yourself ,Australia .In my opinion , learning the foreign language is
the good way for you to find the job because of you are in multiculture
country.
