"Our people killed a lot of white people and a lot of white people killed Aboriginal people, Bishop Malcolm said.
"This is what I mean by saying that we have to say sorry on both sides."
Malcolm said that Aborigines were unable to apologise because noone was currently saying sorry. "What I am saying is that both groups have to come to an agreement and then we'll say sorry."
The General Manager of the Foundation for Aboriginal and Islander Research Action (new one on me), Les Malezer said, "While there are some instances of white people being punished for atrocities against Aboriginal people, in most cases they were left unpunished," he said.
"Massive murders and massive massacres of Aboriginal people were left unpunished and I don't think it was a case of history showing that atrocities were committed by both sides."
This at a time that Prime Minister Howard is only adopting a handful of the recommendations made in the report on the Aboriginal "stolen children".
Sources said that it was unlikely that the government would adopt the Human Rights Commission's recommendations on reform to the juvenile justice system and Aboriginal child welfare arrangements.
One of the commission's main recommendations that compensation be paid to victims has already been rejected by Howard.
West Australian Liberal MP Wilson Tuckey spoke out yesterday about Mick Dodson's comments on the stolen generation at an overseas conference saying, "If he's genuinely committed to his people let him get back into the bush, let him do some barefoot doctoring, because there's a lot of people up there could do with his help."
A web site alleging a pro-Hanson stance, which has since disappeared, called "Jeff Hill's Pro Pauline Hanson Web Page" has caused a rumpus and the resignation of members of Graeme Campbell's Australia First party in Queensland's small town of Kingaroy. The web page was linked from the Australia First Site and made numerous unsubstantiated claims regarding the alleged inferior intellect of Aborigines.
It stated, "A possible biological basis for low intelligence in Australian Aborigines is provided by their relatively small brain size, which is reported to be about 85% of that for the normal European."
We should mention that we copied this statement verbatim out of today's Courier Mail (page 5).
A Queensland strip queen is adding a new dimension to driving pleasure with a large billboard featuring her being placed on the busy Pacific highway near Beenleigh. The idea is for her to slowly strip her clothes during the next month leading up to the Miss Nude Queensland competition which takes place in about six weeks time.
Her prone form will slowly reveal more and more until her transformation from her current tight fitting bodysuit down to a tiny bikini.
Queensland's Transport minister, Vaughan Johnson, has suggested that it represents a danger to driver safety.
"This has got to be a distraction of the travelling public and I disapprove of that firstly, because after all we are trying to promote road safety not distract motorists.
"Secondly, from a personal point of view, it is about displaying the female body and if it is going to be explicit I certainly don't condone that."
The stripper featured on the bill board, Catharine Ingram, has the last word saying, "I want to stare down at the drivers, naked and larger than life, and have the same traffic stopping effect we have seen at Dreamworld's Tower of Terror."
If we drive past we will endeavour to post a picture - for the public record (of course).
The two states with most to lose (both Liberal), South Australia and Victoria stood to lose tens of thousands of jobs if the cuts to the tariffs had gone according to the treasurer's position.
The announcement means that car buyers will pay about Au$2,000 more on new vehicles after the year 2000 than they would have if the tariffs had been dropped.
The Queensland Farmers Federation were vocal about Howard's move with president Lex Buchanan saying, "Canegrowers, who have lost their tariff with some pain to producers, have been betrayed.
"They have not taken the soft option and it will not be received well in rural Australia."
The decision by Howard goes against the Industry Commission recommendations that the government slash tariffs from 15% to 5% over the four years up to 2000.
Last night Ford Australia chief David Morgan said, "This scheme that we now have gives us an opportunity to go ahead and invest in the country and should certainly avoid job losses as such."
Now let us remember that Singaporean media have been very vocal in their condemnation of Ms Hanson in the past for being racist.
So get these claims from the second (Uncensored) link:
"We conclude with a quote form Singapore Minister BG Yeo . He claimed that each race needed to have space to call their own. When they have this space, they will then be able to co-operate and corelate with other races better. The Singapore Malays have no space at all. They are thus non-existent."
"Much untoward exchanges have been taking place between Malaysia and Singapore. It was suggested that as an interim measure Singaporeans should be discouraged from visiting Malaysia and Malaysians from visiting Singapore. All commercial, industrial and economic activities between the two countries should discontinue. As Harimau sees it, enmity will always arise
beccause the two countries have incompatible Government Policies. Singapore, despite its claims of championing Multi-racial and meritocracy policies, is actually only advancing Pro-Chinese Policies. There is much suspicion in Malaysia that Singapore is constantly embarking to subvert the country with its riches, trying to turn the Chinese against the Malaysian Government. The
fear is real if one realized that the Chinese population of Malaysia borders around 40% of the entire Malaysian population. Just as in Indonesia, most wealth lie in the hands of the Chinese. One only has to visit towns like Malacca, Penang, Ipoh, Pontian and Johor Bahru to see the extent of Singapore Influence. On the other hand, it is very unlikely that Malaysia could ever
subvert Singapore through the Malays of Singapore. They form less than 17% of the total population of 3.1million and they, further are occupying the lowest rung of society. Singapore Malays are forever in debt, struggling to survive from day to day. Propagating Malay Nationalism will be their least concern.
Seems like the issue of multiculturalism is not restricted to Australia alone...
Dear Sir/Madam,
We have written a favourable short article on Ms Hanson. Please

Subject: On Pauline
I understand your stance on free speech and to publicise Pauline's
movements reaffirms that. I'd just like to say that to do so would be
just as immoral and as cruel as publicising child pornography and
molestation onto the internet and subjecting it to many latent child
molestors out there in much the same way as Pauline's quotes and ideals
stir up latent rascists! There is alot of hatred and nasty ideals
lurking beneath the surface of all of us! Not just rascism but many
others!! I shall cover that later!
The more Pauline Hanson's views and supporters are aired by the media,
the more our economy will shrink in terms of overseas dollars.... You'll
probably state that you've heard all this before, blah, blah, blah.....
I just wonder what a little retaliation from our asian neighbours would
present? Europe and the States are so distant from Australia
geographically and if our Asian neighbours could somehow starve us out
they would at the very thought of Australia's consensus of opinion in
relation to our beloved Pauline! With our economy at a downward slump at
the moment and with the threat of Asian investment withdrawals,
Australia... to put it mildly is.........F***ED!!!!! I personally do not
swear allegience to this country although I was born here! I have many
contacts and business interests in Asia and to me that's where the big
bucks are!!!! In fact I would love to see Australia go down the tubes
and even love to witness the good ol' xenophophobic stance of an Asian
invasion into this country!!!! Hey Pauline, you can't tell me to go
where I came from either!!HA
I urge our Asian neighbours to reconsider all business contracts with
this country and to milk Australia dry where applicable. Australia needs
you more than you need it!!!!! The cost of labour is very high here and
substandard in every way so don't even think of manufacturing products
here! With all the natural resources that this country holds and the
innane citizens and politicians that accompany them, this'll lead to
massive exploitation by potential prospectors!!!! Also the defense force
is shabby!!!! Australia cannot guard it's own coastline 24 hrs a day!!
Who will they try to suck up to first????? The Yanks or the
Pomms????!!!!
Australia! Give yourself up to your neighbours before they starve you
out!!! You lost the battle hands down! Let's officially call Australia-
Australianesia!!!! I think to the average citizen in Australia an
invasion from, say, indonesia would be really grand!!! There's lots of
good gunja that's produced over there so therefore there'd be an endless
supply of it!!!!
I think every Asian of worth is thinking of all the aforementioned
topics. Wouldn't be frightful if all the latent exploiters and
enterprisers in the Asian businessworld were subjected an email like
this????!!!!! On second thought, I may just post this letter all over
the net so our Asian neighbours can transform their latency into cold
reality!!!!!
Australia! You're living on borrowed time!!!!!!!

The Australian captain scored only seven runs before being caught - leading his side into an abyssmal position where they were, at one stage, just 54 runs for 8 before a ninth wicket stand of 50 by tail-enders Shane Warne and Michael Kasprowicz.
The Aussies were eventually skittled out for just 118 runs. At close of play on the first day at Edgbaston England were 200 for 3 wickets.
Taylor's first mistake was to win the toss... he sent Australia in to bat first on a wicket which was green and unpredictable.
It goes without saying that Taylor will not now make the second test match in the Ashes series.
Have a good one.
