International:

James Hewitt, Pricess Di's former lover, is going to tell all in a controversial documentary being screened on Channel Nine on Monday night. Australia will be the first country to see the 38 minute documentary after the Nine Network purchased the tape "sight unseen" last month in a confidential negotiation supervised by Channel Nine's programming director John Stephens. The network gained the exclusive Australian rights after agreeing to strict guidelines.

Now this is one show I've got to see especially after all the flack Di has being throwing at the Royal Family. Somehow I think that justice might be done in bringing back a bit of balance in the equation.

Guess it is a classic case of "kiss and tell" in reverse.

Political:

Several of the Queensland State Coalition's Members of Parliament have revolted over the new gun laws. Even the speaker of the house, Neil Turner, brooke ranks with his National Party colleagues as the party appeared to be heading for a showdown next week in the face of a backlash from the rural and farming community.

Mr Turner called for a referendum of Queensland voters on the proposed weapons ban.

He said that the legislative framework proposed by John Howard and agreed to by all states was "draconian". Premier Rob Borbidge refused to comment on the views expressed by Turner and other members of his party.

Business:

MIM Holdings Limited shares plunged yesterday and Highlands Gold rights hit a low of 1.6 cents as the impact of the Asarco Au$414 million placement hit the market.

The prices ranged from a low of Au$1.71 to a high of Au$1.81 closing 4 cents lower at Au$1.80.

Sport:

Queensland State of Origin rugby league full back Robbie O'Davis could become a Suncorp Stadium regular after the Crushers confirmed that they had had talks with him. O'Davis comes off contract with the Newcastle Knights at the end of this season and he has been negotiating with the Knights, the Queensland Crushers and a Sydney-based club.

Personal trivia, from the global office:

Another visit to the big smoke today to visit my friends at thr Restaurant and Caterers Association. Global Web Builders will be working closely with the association in the training and Internet based marketing on restaurants in Queensland. We already have a substantial restaurant site featuring over 40 restaurants in Queensland.
