The Courier-Mail have another One Nation MP in their sights

An article in Saturday's Courier Mail (16th January 1999) by Michael Ware reflects the shift in focus now that they have succeeded in uprooting Charles Rappolt. Their new target is One Nation MP for Ipswich West, Jack Paff.

The prominent article headed "MP admits making up corruption story" is centered around an allegation that Paff made up a story about a leading assistant "beating up a suspect" when idly chatting privately to an inexperienced police inspector while at a function at Governor Peter Arnison's residence last year. Paff, it appears, was not aware that a member of the Government's staff allegedly relating the story about the leading assistant "sitting on a suspect's chest and squeezing his testicles to force him to sign a confession.

The CJC subsequently investigated the comments finding that two police named, Assistant Commissioner Graham Williams and former senior officer Roland Dargusch were falsely accused - after Paff admitted that the bashing never took place.

Yesterday Paff, who is on the Parliamentary Criminal Justice Commission said, "I will not talk about the CJC to any person. They are matters that are not in the public interest."

Then The Courier-Mail started digging deep referring to a comment in Parliament that Paff had been described by Justice Des Derrington in the Supreme Court in 1983 as a "liar, a fabricator, a coward, a trespasser and an assailant".

Of course the reason for the complaint (a tenant trashing his home) was left out of the article.

A spokesman for Mr Beattie's department is quoted as saying "the issues raised here are very serious particularly in relation to someone who is an elected representative of the people.

"What happens from here is a matter for Mr Paff, the parliamentary and party leadership of One Nation and the leader of the Opposition who nominated him for the position (on the PCJC)".

The CJC chairman Brendan Butler said that his report on the matter had been conveyed to "all interested parties at the appropriate time and in the right manner. Any suggestion that the CJC acted to the contrary would be grossly improper. It is not a function of the CJC to publicly air these matters.

"They are confidential and can affect the reputation and standing of individuals"... exactly the reason that The Courier-Mail has gone after this story like a dog after a bone...

Now what happened to news coverage of that Queensland Labor MP currently facing child sex charges... should I go on? 

The UN takes over our Kakadu

How many times are we told that the UN International treaties and agreements do not hold any water over Australia - well guess what they do.

Take Kakadu National Park for instance. Conservationists are now pushing for this Australian landmark to be declared a protected area by the UN. The conflict is building over the Jabiluka uranium mine.

Yesterday Senator Robert Hill, the Environment Minister, lashed out at UNESCO saying that the body which will decide whether Kakadu is "in danger" is singling out Australia when about one in four of all world heritage areas had mining within or adjacent to their boundaries.

The International Union for the Conservation of Nature is pushing for UNESCO to put Kakadu on its "danger list" because of Jabiluka mine.

Hill responded by saying, "It appears it is acceptable for some countries to excise thousands of hectares of world heritage areas for exploration and mining, yet Australia is condemned for allowing mining on a lease which pre-dates world heritage listing."

The government need to respond formally within four months to prevent Kakadu being declared endangered by UNESCO.

There you go then all these international treaties and agreements that we sign supposedly mean little or nothing unless they come back and bite you.

The latest Domino

Here is an extract from the latest article by Graham Strachan:

The unique benefits of economic globalisation are now being enjoyed by Brazil, the latest domino in the sequence of former proud nations facing financial ruin. The same old trick was employed: pump the country full of debt, then precipitate a capital flight which forces down the value of its currency (the real), so that the debt can’t be serviced.

The next step, an IMF bailout package with strings attached....strings which invariably involve removing all impediments to the exploitation of the country by global, mainly American, capital....occurred last November. A $41.5 billion ‘rescue package’ was assembled by the IMF with money taken from taxpayers’ in other countries including Australia. The strings attached were that Brazilian president Cardoso, described as ‘the architect of Brazil’s free-market reforms’ (in other words, the local bankers’ man), would introduce ‘austerity measures’ to cut the country’s $60 billion/year budget deficit. What sort of ‘austerity measures’? You guessed it: ‘Social Security Reform’, which means slashing spending on welfare, health and education, driving down the quality of life of the Brazilian people so that the bankers can enjoy the full fruits of usury.

WA Secession

To bring you up to date with the campaign: the committee discovered that the secession referendum, held in 1933, had no record of having been completed.

In 1934 a Secession Act was assented to and tabled in the British Parliament. No decision to support or reject it was made. A Joint Select Committee advised that secession was a matter for the Australian Federal Government to decide through a national referendum. Because this has not yet taken place, our Association took-up the issue and petitioned the Legislative Council of W.A. on Wednesday 2nd December 1998, to recognise the 1933 secession referendum as unfinished business. We are impressing on the W.A. Government that it is now their duty to make representation to the Federal Government to hold a national referendum to release W.A. from the Federation.

Regardless of what arguments have been put forward, for or against the case for secession, the Secession Act remains an acknowledgment of a successful referendum and a democratic right to secede through the desire of Western Australians as expressed in that referendum.

A further move by the Association is to have the proposed republic referendum treated as a new formulated Federation and not an amendment to the existing one. This means that to form a republic is a new constitutional arrangement where all the States of Australia need to be asked independent of each other if they wanted to belong to a new Federation. It would be an opportunity for W.A. to say NO! Whereas, in an amended constitution W.A. as a member state could be taken into a change on the weight of vote of the other States.

On the 2nd December 1998, a petition was read in the Legislative Council to reconsider the 1933 Secession Referendum which resulted in a call for W.A. to secede from the Federal Commonwealth. The petitioners sought to have that referendum taken to a final conclusion. It is now an opportune time for the W.A. Government to call on the Federal Government to include a nationwide referendum to release W.A. in fulfilment of that 1933 referendum. Would you please keep me informed of the progress of this issue.

Health Alert - Aspartame Disease

WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE and the MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS FOUNDATION FDA IS SUING FOR COLLUSION WITH MONSANTO

I have spent several days lecturing at the WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE on ASPARTAME marketed as 'NutraSweet,' 'Equal,' and 'Spoonful'. In the keynote address by the EPA, they announced that there was an epidemic of multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus, and they did not understand what toxin was causing this to be rampant across the United States. I explained that I was there to lecture on exactly that subject. When the temperature of Aspartame exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in ASPARTAME coverts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolic acidosis. (Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants.) The methanol toxicity mimics multiple sclerosis; thus people were being diagnosed with having multiple sclerosis in error. The multiple sclerosis is not a death sentence, where methanol toxicity is.

In the case of systemic lupus, we are finding it has become almost as rampant as multiple sclerosis, especially in Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers. Also, with methanol toxicity, the victims usually drink three to four 12 oz. Cans of them per day, some even more. In the cases of systemic lupus, which is triggered by ASPARTAME, the victim usually does not know that the aspartame is the culprit The victim continues its use aggravating the lupus to such a degree, that sometimes it becomes life threatening. When we get people off the aspartame, those with systemic lupus usually become asymptomatic. Unfortunately, we cannot reverse this disease.

On the other hand, in the case of those diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, (when in reality, the disease is methanol toxicity), most of the symptoms disappear. We have seen cases where their vision has returned and even their hearing has returned. This also applies to cases of tinnitus.

During a lecture I said "If you are using ASPARTAME (NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc.) and you suffer from fibromyalgia symptoms, spasms, shooting pains, numbness in your legs, cramps, vertigo, dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, joint pain, depression, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, blurred vision, or memory loss -- you probably have ASPARTAME DISEASE!" People were jumping up during the lecture saying, "I've got this, is it reversible?" It is rampant. Some of the speakers at my lecture even were suffering from these symptoms. In one lecture attended by the Ambassador of Uganda, he told us that their sugar industry is adding aspartame! He continued by saying that one of the industry leader's son could no longer walk -- due in part by product usage!

We have a very serious problem. Even a stranger came up to Dr. Espisto (one of my speakers) and myself and said, "Could you tell me why so many people seem to be coming down with MS?" During a visit to a hospice, a nurse said that six of her friends, who were heavy Diet Coke addicts, had all been diagnosed with MS. This is beyond coincidence.

Here is the problem. There were Congressional Hearings when aspartame was included in 100 different products. Since this initial hearing, there have been two subsequent hearings, but to no avail. Nothing as been done. The drug and chemical lobbies have very deep pockets. Now there are over 5,000 products containing this chemical, and the PATENT HAS EXPIRED!!!!!

At the time of this first hearing, people were going blind. The methanol in the aspartame converts to formaldehyde in the retina of the eye. Formaldehyde is grouped in the same class of drugs as cyanide and arsenic --DEADLY POISONS!!! Unfortunately, it just takes longer to quietly kill, but it is killing people and causing all kinds of neurological problems. Aspartame changes the brain's chemistry. It is the reason for severe seizures. This drug changes the dopamine level in the brain. Imagine what this drug does to patients suffering from Parkinson's Disease. This drug also causes Birth Defects.

There is absolutely no reason to take this product. It is NOT A DIET PRODUCT!!! The Congressional record said, "It makes you crave carbohydrates and will make you FAT." Dr. Roberts stated that when he got patients off aspartame, their average weight loss was 19 pounds per person.

The formaldehyde stores in the fat cells, particularly in the hips and thighs.

Aspartame is especially deadly for diabetics. All physicians know what wood alcohol will do to a diabetic. We find that physicians believe that they have patients with retinopathy, when in fact, it is caused by the aspartame. The aspartame keeps the blood sugar level out of control, causing many patients to go into a coma. Unfortunately, many have died. People were telling us at the Conference of the American College of Physicians, that they had relatives that switched from saccharin to an aspartame product and how that relative had eventually gone into a coma. Their physicians could not get the blood sugar levels under control.

Thus, the patients suffered acute memory loss and ventually coma and death. Memory loss is due to the fact that aspartic acid and phenylalanine are neurotoxic without the other amino acids found in protein. Thus it goes past the blood brain barrier and deteriorates the neurons of the brain.

Dr. Russell Blaylock, neurosurgeon, said, "The ingredients stimulates the neurons of the brain to death, causing brain damage of varying degrees." Dr. Blaylock has written a book entitled "EXCITOTOXINS: THE TASTE THAT KILLS" HealthPress1-800-643-2665). Dr. H.J. Roberts, diabetic specialist and world expert on aspartame poisoning, has also written a book entitled DEFENSE AGAINST ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE" (1-800-814-9800). Dr. Roberts tells how aspartame poisoning is escalating Alzheimer's Disease, and indeed it is. As the hospice nurse told me, women are being admitted at 30 years of age with Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Blaylock and Dr. Roberts will be writing a position paper with some case histories and will post it on the Internet. According to the Conference of the American College of Physicians, '"We are talking about a plague of neurological diseases caused by this deadly poison!!"

Dr. Roberts realized what was happening when aspartame was first marketed. He said "his diabetic patients presented memory loss, confusion, and severe vision loss." At the Conference of the American college of Physicians, doctors admitted that they did not know. They had wondered why seizures were rampant (the phenylalanine in aspartame breaks down the seizure threshold and depletes serotonin, which causes manic depression, panic attacks, rage and violence).

Just before the Conference, I received a FAX from Norway, asking for a possible antidote for this poison because they are experiencing so many problems in their country. This "poison" is now available in 90 PLUS countries worldwide. Fortunately, we had speakers and ambassadors at the Conference from different nations who have pledged their help. We ask that you help too. Print this article out and warn everyone you know. Take anything that contains aspartame black to the store. Take the "NO ASPARTAME TEST" and send us your case history.

I assure you that MONSANTO, the creator of aspartame, knows how deadly it is. They fund the American Diabetes Association, American Dietetic Association, Congress, and the Conference of the American College of Physicians. The New York Times, on November 15, 1996, ran an article on how the American Dietetic Association takes money from the food industry to endorse their products. Therefore, they cannot criticize any additives or tell about their link to MONSANTO. How bad is this? We told a mother who had a child on NutraSweet to get off the product. The child was having grand mal seizures every day. The mother called her physician, who called the ADA, who told the doctor not to take the child off the NutraSweet. We are still trying to convince the mother that the aspartame is causing the seizures. Every time we get someone off of aspartame, the seizures stop. If the baby dies, you know whose fault it is, and what we are up against. There are 92 documented symptoms of aspartame,from coma to death. The majority of them are all neurological, because the aspartame destroys the nervous system.

Aspartame Disease is partially the cause to what is behind some of the mystery of the Dessert Storm health problems. The burning tongue and other problems discussed in over 60 cases can be directly related to the consumption of an aspartame product. Several thousand pallets of diet drinks were shipped to the Dessert Storm troops. (Remember heat can liberate the methanol from the aspartame at 86 degrees F.) Diet drinks sat in the 120 degree F. Arabian sun for weeks at a time on pallets. The service men and women drank them all day long. All of their symptoms are identical to aspartame poisoning. Dr. Roberts says "consuming aspartame at the time of conception can cause birth defects." The phenylalanine concentrates in the placenta, causing mental retardation, according to Dr. Louis Elsas, Pediatrician Professor-Genetics, at Emory University in his testimony before Congress.

In the original lab tests, animals developed brain tumors (phenylalanine breaks down into DXP, a brain tumor agent). When Dr. Espisto was lecturing on aspartame me, one physician in the audience, a neurosurgeon, said, "When they remove brain tumors, they have found high levels of aspartame in them."

Stevia, a sweet food, NOT AN ADDITIVE, which helps in the metabolism of sugar, which would be ideal for diabetics, has now been approved as a dietary supplement by the FDA For years, the FDA has outlawed this sweet food because of their loyalty to MONSANTO.

If it says "SUGAR FREE" on the label -- DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!

Senator Howard Hetzenbaum wrote a bill that would have warned all infants, pregnant mothers and children of the dangers of aspartame. The bill would have also instituted independent studies on the problems existing in the population (seizures, changes in brain chemistry, changes in neurological and behavioral symptoms). It was killed by the powerful drug and chemical lobbies, letting loose the hounds of disease and death on an unsuspecting public. Since the Conference of the American College of Physicians, we hope to have the help of some world leaders. Again, please help us too. There are a lot of people out there who must be warned, *please* let them know this information.

My, you've got to hand it to Hanson's critics, they are an impressive opposition. One scarcely knows how to make an adequate response to the likes of Robert Pyne. Such erudition. Such a command of the English language. And what to make of the rapier-like wit, and exquisite word choice!

But what most impressed me was his generosity of spirit, and his courtesy in respecting the sincerity of his opponent, while remaing firm in his own convictions. Such civility allows each side to to least appreciate where the other is coming from. It's so rare these days.

Howard is NOT directly responsible for war widows or veterans or anything else. He is only responsible for implementing currently valid legislation that was passed by Parliament and approved by the GG. This legislation says he provides the services above. If he doesn't like laws and he has a majority in both Houses of Parliament he changes it. If the population doesn't like his changes they make lots of noise and he backs down or they attempt to defeat him at an election. Government is responsible for law not good or evil.

As he is only responsible for existing legislation- to keep it or change it or make new legislation. He is not responsible for past legislation . I find him responsible for the new Gun Laws or the GST but not for something that happened to ancestors belonging to either you or me.

So for instance Andrew Fisher as PM is responsible for the creation of the Commonwealth bank (a racially neutral example), Paul Keating for its privatisation and JH for neither. He is only responsible for applying any legislation that still applies to that bank, not things that happened in the past

Adolph and his party on the other hand were the perpetrator of the crimes. As such the Nuremberg trials prosecuted them. They did not find all the German people guilty of crimes committed by the Nazis. Willi Brandt or Kohl who were subsequent chancellors in Germany may have made deals with the Israelis for Political purposes but as they did not commit the crimes they were not responsible for them.

If you extend responsibility to those only loosely associated with the crime or to future generations or to those passing by then we would all be responsible for everything. Extreme example- you weren't at Port Arthur but essentially you as an inhabitant of Australia must then accept complicity and would also be guilty of that crime and owe the victims.

Neither John Howard or his Government, nor I perpetrated any crimes against you or your people. If you have evidence to contrary see the Police. I am responsible only for my actions which is why I am only held liable at the present time for my violations of the Gun Laws forced on Queensland by John Howard.

You say all non-Aboriginal Australians are responsible?- does this include recent immigrants like the Vietnamese, refugees from China, Italians and other europeans immigrating in the 50's? What about part aboriginals? Is my cousin guilty because she is half white or innocent because she is half black? Do the 2 halves cancel or is the debt greater on the white side? What about tourists. Since they benefit from walking on former aboriginal land as they visit expensive tourist traps should they be held responsible and apologise to.

You are possibly treated differently because like yourself many whites are arseholes. I am sure that if you were my boss you would treat me just as badly as my current boss. You mistake many white arseholes for racists when these people usually hate every-body equally.

Re ON- It seems mainly people who have NO authority and NO privilege and who have been given the run around by the ruling city based white elites are involved in this party. Many are aggrieved gun owners. No-one minds (or gives a shit) if you get ahead as long as you don't do it by walking over us like every-one else seems to be doing.

When they came for your people I wasn't born and my father was probably still in a Nazi labour camp. Other branches of the family had already been gassed. Its a big bad tragic world. Your people have done no worse than many others. Australia was settled by those exiled by law or by poverty or oppression from Europe and elsewhere. You at least can still live in the land of your ancestors. Those who remember Erin and the Fairie, or Albion can really only finally return to theirs by travelling the low road.

Perhaps what we need is similar to the partition of India. Have a treaty that cedes part of Australia to those who wish to be aboriginals. Give them as a group/ individuals a suitable large compensation package in a bank of their choice. All those who choose to immigrate to the new state remain aboriginal citizens of the new state and are governed by the new state.

All those who decide to stay in the Australian state now accept they are no different from the most recent immigrant who just got their citizenship papers. No roots, no sacred sites, no special benefits.

You may as well consider it because despite all appearances you face cultural death at the hands of McDonnalds. Once the name of a great Scottish clan and now purveyors of take-away haggis they corrupt your children more than racism ever will. They will all become bland white children with dark skins- shallow ones interested only in happy meals.

Morality, Ethics and the Old Fashioned stuff

Dear Mss Gare,

I occasionaly purchase an Australian Newpaper and I did so this weekend. I was astonished and very pleased to see that not everyone in this society has lost their sense of values.

Your article "The shame file is full" I thought was excellent and put the case for all of us to :lift our game" in the morality/ethics stakes. I am not a prude, but what is happening not only here but all round the Western World sickens me as it can only lead to ultimate decline and disaster.The Roman Empire was in its day all powerful - but the strength of ROME was originaly the patriotism,strength of character and willingness of the Romans to abide by proven time honoured ethical principals.

Once these were dispensed with and greed, corruption and deceit became the guidance of the leaders,

Rome soon fell - destroyed from within rather than by the actions of the so-called Barbarians!.

Todays society, like the Romans has thrown away all the guidances of religion in these matters, but has not found any substitute. Who are the real Barbarians in these times?. While I despair of the Islamic fundamentalists use of terror in many ways THEIR convictions are held truly - even if they are wrong.Who in our society has any true convictions that they are prepared to live for let alone die for?. No wonder the Islamic world considers America & Britain and the rest of us such a crummy lot of desperates!.

Dear Editor,

Oh dear - best laid plans of mice and men oft gang awry

It was with increasing concern that we listened on radio to the attitude of detachment from poverty, that appears to be a part of lectures from the safe distance of ivory towers.

What do we do with our learning, our knowledge, our acquired wisdom to make the passage through this life a tad easier for those existing in conditions of real poverty not the imaginary one used as the guideline in media reports.

Earlier this century, Father John Gallagher brought to Australia the concepts of the Antigonish Movement from Nova Scotia Canada. Groups were set up in some Sydney NSW suburbs and country centres.

Whilst times were hard, all participants supported the scheme. As financial pressures eased, the members spent their cash elsewhere, not with the scheme of low cost let`s help one- another concept. With time and no use, the movement faded away.

The concept of Credit Unions, the peoples` banks worked for a time, especially during the time with voluntary management groups overseeing the safe nurturing of the members funds - both savings and distributions through loans etc.

The scheme flourished. Another successful facet of money management has grown into a large financial industry, controlled by an empire building bureaucracy and serviced by major banks acting as the clearing houses.

A perceived need in the late l9th century in England was the availability of finance. The Starr-Bowkett movement came to Australia as a low cost housing scheme and the system is still in use here in a limited way. That system enables members to save money regularly and receive at low or no cost, loans for the acquisition of real estate, or for other purposes, on the security of it, through a series of ballots.

A Doctor in Bangladesh perceived a great need to provide low cost loans to poor people especially women in need . The Grameen Bank is now providing as excellent tool for getting out of grinding poverty.

In many centres the LETS scheme has provided a method of exchange of goods, or talents, through which those without access to a ready dollar cash flow due to circumstances of low, no or underemployment opportunities, can trade.

It is to be hoped these low key self-help concepts do not become victims of the bureacratic tendencies human beings seem so to enjoy - Empire Building. Where big is good, bigger is better, and biggest, the best is yet to come. So when it all becomes too expensive and once again those least able to defend themselves will become the victims of greed.
