[MURDER BY MEDIA, DEATH OF DEMOCRACY
IN AUSTRALIA]
In 1998 I started following the scandalous Shreddergate saga - in which Labor's Goss Cabinet authorised the shredding of the Heiner Inquiry documents into the John Oxley Youth Centre - this is covered in the book "Murder by Media, Death of Democracy in Australia" and is also on line at the above Shreddergate link.
Despite badgering the media at the time (read The Courier-Mail) they took no interest in a scandal which had resulted in numerous enquiries including those by the CJC into issues around the edges of the shredding. The two main issues the welfare of children under detention and the shredding were carefully overlooked as the Labor Cabinet and Murdoch's lackeys would have been implicated in a criminal offence.
In 1998 just before the state election I had a chance to raise the issue of Shreddergate with then state leader Heather Hill.
Heather took the issue on board and after eleven One Nation MPs were elected the first act by this new party was to challenge the minority Labor government's credibility on the basis of Shreddergate. The Labor Party needed the support of key Independent Peter Wellington to form a minority government. Wellington was informed about Shreddergate and its implications by me in June 1998 - discussions with One Nation MPs followed.
When the One Nation MPs challenged Beattie all hell let loose because the cabinet documents kept at the meeting in 1990 at which it was decided to shred the Heiner Inquiry reports and tapes had been kept under lock and key - smelling very "fishy". Of course, despite their release by Peter Beattie following the One Nation challenge and the demands by Peter Wellington that this be done on the night before that critical vote was to be taken, the criminal act of shredding once again became the victim of political survival for the Labor party.
What did result was the Forde Inquiry. Yesterday we heard that as a result of the Forde Inquiry Au$63 million is to be spent on upgrading youth detention centres in Queensland. Now despite the Labor Party being the key cause for the state of these centres being as run down as the inquiry claims they are now claiming the credit for doing something for youth held there.
The disreputable Courier-Mail makes absolutely no link to Shreddergate, the Heiner Inquiry, Labor's role in preventing an earlier inquiry into youth detention centres etc.... (looking after their mates) report as if the inquiry was Labor's idea and that they should be applauded for taking such a stand.
What crap!
Labor's (post Forde Inquiry plan) involves the following:
Leading the saintly Labor Party's move to "help the kids out" is none other than Youth and Community Care Minister Anna Bligh who said (quote) the state's detention centres had been unsuitable and out of date for too long... (unquote).
She also says, "The whole program means safer communities, much better outcomes for our young people and the creation of 400 construction jobs.
"One of the things we'll be looking at is the creation of a new place where children can have time out to replace what was identified in the Forde (and the Heiner Inquiry before it - shredded by Labor in 1990) as the dungeon.
So there you go folks the criminal act of shredding remains firmly behind closed doors and my work on-line on Shreddergate costs Queenslanders Au$63 million and appears in The Courier-Mail as a Labor Party initiative.
As I said before what a load of crap.

The headline in The Courier-Mail sums it up: Liberals bank on big business again. A $4.65 million unidentified "loan" to the Liberal party by Greenfields is currently under investigation by the Australian Electoral Commission.
Dear Webmaster/One Nation
We are currently preparing a biographical article on Pauline Hanson for World Book International Encyclopedia - we need to have details such as her maiden / family name and details of her early life. Could you help me with this information or direct me to relevant links ?
Thanks a lot

Here is an extract from The Washington Post article:
Nearly 300,000 strong by most estimates, the Surinamese in Southeast and similar neighborhoods in the Netherlands' other big cities pose questions that the nation like other rich countries throughout the world is urgently struggling to answer: In a white European country, can these nonwhite newcomers ever truly blend into the national identity? Can they ever become truly Dutch?
Or is it another process that takes place: Is the host society fundamentally changed by their presence, like it or not?

A bill has been introduced to Repeal Term limitations for the President
A bill has just been introduced in the House which will repeal the 22nd amendment there by allowing the President to serve as many terms as he can get elected. In other words, we may end up with a President/dictator for life.
I have no further information on this. If anyone else does, please email me. I consider this an extremely troubling and dangerous development.
I believe we need to follow up on this as soon as possible. I have enclosed the email address to the House Judiciary committee.
We need to find out what the status of this bill is. the bill is: H.J. Res 17 Ru

In the middle of last year I purchased a rental property in Eastern Heights near Ipswich. About a month and a half ago I realised that something was wrong after I receibed a bank statement - the tenant had fallen six weeks behind in his rent. I had accepted the tenant after they had shown me a clean record by way of a testimonial from a local real estate agent.
I immediately went through all the correct legal procedures and today, apparently, am no closer to regaining possession of my home.
Things came to a head today (early this afternoon) when I took a real estate agent from Ray White in Ipswich to the house to investigate the damage that the tenants had caused to date with the aim of allowing them to estimate costs and then get the house repaired. The tenants had vacated the house the previous Friday, or so I though after the Ipswich Magistrates Court granted me a "warrant of possession" on Wednesday. I had earlier phoned the police asking them to be at the house at this time so that we could go through the official procedures of eviction. They were not there at the appointed time.
The real estate agent and I were set upon in the house by a pack of hungry fleas which acted in packs more like pyrannah. The house was full of cockroaches, the new carpets were trashed, the newly painted walls needing at least another coat, holes in the wall, two doors vandalised and wallpaper torn from the wall. There was s*** on the toilet seat. I think you can get an idea of what I am talking about. The agent estimates costs to get the house "somewhere near rentable" at well over $1,000.
Outside things were no better - old clothes and obsolete white goods were left abandoned with old tyres around the garden and the grass now stands over three foot high. When we left the house the agent and I took 15 minutes ridding ourselves of fleas.
I was picking up a statement from a neighbour when I noticed that the tenant from hell - one Frederick Cecil Hall born on 11th June 1971 had returned to the home. He was standing alongside his blue car with apparently no number plates and making threatening noises. When I took a picture of him by his car he ran up to me and threatened me. I told him to go for it... he then walked up to my car as if he was going to damage it. Another photo was taken.
At this time comedy turned to farce when I went to one of the neighbours asking them to call the police and while putting my hand over the fence to enter the property was bitten by their dog - I now sport teeth holes in my left hand thumb.
The neighbour came out, apologised and called the police. I drove to the nearest Police station at Bundamba and reported the incident.
The police had in the meantime arrived and confronted Mr Hall. They then came down to the Bundamba Station and told me that "they could do nothing about Mr Hall" until the warrant for his eviction fell due on Saturday 6th February 1999.
I asked about the trashing of my house - making the point that the house was vacant and that the Hall's no longer lived there. The police said that "they have to follow procedures". Apparently the tenants are Aboriginal.
Strange Bedfellows
Dear Scott,
One of the things that annoy me is the media's attempts to portray ON as an extremist right winged party. In these politically confused times the old boundaries which define ideologies and principles of our political parties in terms of left through the spectrum to right-wing no longer apply.
As a ON supporter ( a supposedly extremist right-wing organisation ) I was interested to read these two articles from the Communist Party of Australia's ( CPA ) official news organ, The Guardian. The old leftwing /rightwing labels are becoming increasingly blurred and irrelevant.
The first http://www.peg.apc.org/~guardian/state/mai.htm is a very interesting article on the MAI and its implications on our sovereignty and government.
The second article details the CPA's stand on successive Laboral governments and their dedication towards the privatisation of publicly owned utilities, http://www.peg.apc.org/~guardian/state/priv.htm .
Have a good day

Scott Balson on 6PR in Perth
Hi Scott,
Well I guess I must be the eternal optimist deep down because so help me I actually thought that "Sookie" Sattler would give you at least 15 minutes to cover such an important subject as is covered in your book!
I didn't have access to a phone but I had made sure my radio was tuned to 6PR at 10 oclock this morning. I thought you spoke very well Scott (how long did they give you? 2 maybe 3 minutes at the most) and I know how hard it can be to keep a cool clear head when the pressure is on.
Perhaps you'll fill us in Scott on your impressions of Howard. Personally I think he has earned the name given him here... Howard (the Sook) Sattler. "Sookie". I'll tell you why I think that. When you brought up the MAI and FISA Howard agreed he didn't like them (the treaties) and thought the TNCs had too much power. He agreed that Packer's 9 network were blatantly biased against PHON.
So why is he a Sook?. Despite making a point of saying he didn't agree with everything P.H has said he did seem to agree in essence with everything you said and yet what did he do with this opportunity. He asked silly questions of the sort that any old journo would ask. Now this man thinks the multi-nats are too powerfull, he agreed that secret treatys were wrong and that Globalism isn't working! Can a man really believe all this and yet remain mechanical, devoid of passion? Come off the grass Howard you are a sook and you should have got into a good old fashioned Aussie pollie-bashing session with Scott! The way you used to in the eighties, remember? or do you think W.A inc was the pinnacle of corruption and it's been waning ever since?
Good on the supporter who rang and said she used to vote liberal but has turned to O.N since libs have become just like labour. If I'd been anywhere near a phone I would have rung myself. Surprised and dissapointed that some others rang on such boring subjects. What will it take to wake them up?
Anyway I suppose as my dad would have said "It was a hell of a lot better than a poke in the eye with a stick"
Cheers
David Morgan.
Got yer quids out yet?
It looks good already Scotty. Here is a quote from George Soros book: 'The Crisis of Global Capitalism' ISBN 0 316 84916 2. Quote from p.112:
'What has happened instead is that the taxes on capital and employment have come down while other forms of taxation particularly ON CONSUMPTION have kept increasing. In other words, the burden of taxation has shifted from capital to citizens. That is not exactly what had been promised, but one cannot even speak of unintended consequences because the outcome was exactly as the free-marketeers intended.'
The book was published in 1998 and was available in Oz a couple of months ago. His first prediction was that Brazil would sink, followed by Argentina, followed by Uncle Sam - so far he is spot on. And what does Howard and his cronies do?... Can you believe the mugs in this country really voted for that? It seems they did!
If you were listening to Aunties Radio National today, you may have heard that all savings accounts were frozen in Brazil. George Soros in his just published book: "The Crisis of Global Capitalism" ISBN 0 316 84916 2; predicted that Brazil would go under - it happened even before his book hit the bookstores in some countries - and that the next domino will be Argentina, followed by Uncle Sam. He has this to say about the GST: "Interestingly, the states share of GNP has not declined perceptibly. What has happened instead is that the taxes on capital and employment have come down while other forms of taxation particularly on CONSUMPTION have kept increasing. In other words, the burden of taxation has shifted from capital to citizens. That is not exactly what had been promised, but one cannot even speak of unintended consequences because the outcome was exactly as the free-marketeers intended". (and the mug Australian voters prefer it that way it seems). Noam Chomsky calls it the "welfare state for the rich".
Soros has this to say on Land Rights: "I already discern the makings of the final crisis. It will be political in character. Indigenous political movements are likely to arise that will seek to expropriate the multinational corporations and recapture the 'national' wealth. Some of them may succeed in the manner of the Boxer Rebellion or the Zapatista Revolution. Their success may then shake the confidence of the financial markets, engendering a self-reinforcing process on the downside."
