The Privatisation Scam
Extract from this week's article on "economic rationalism by Graham L. Strachan - a must read at this time of government privatisation...
"The other arm of economic rationalism is PRIVATISATION, which really has little to do with genuine free market theory at all. Economic rationalism requires governments to privatise all taxpayer-owned enterprises and public utilities, which means sell them to private interests, which invariably turn out to be foreign multinationals and financial institutions. None of this is required by genuine free market theory.
.............
"Privatisation cannot be justified on economic grounds either. The Hilmer Report concedes that rail, electricity, gas and water utilities account for less than 5% of GDP (6). Even if (and theres no guarantee) a 25% improvement in economic efficiency could be achieved through privatisation (7), the overall return to the taxpayer would be insignificant. Filling black holes in the budget, while a clever invention by Treasurer Costello, is not the real reason either. The grin is a dead giveaway. The policy of privatisation was well under way before the Howard government even came to power. It was recommended by the Hilmer Report in 1993."
Stolen Generations report left out evidence: Institute
The Institute of Public Affairs has released a report critical of the Stolen Generations report by the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission.
The head of the Institute's Indigenous Issues Unit, Rum Brunton, claims the Stolen Generations report has omitted crucial evidence, of which its authors would almost certainly have been aware.
"What is missing and the authors of the report were almost certainly aware of this, was that when the assimilation policies were first being formulated, developed in Australia in the late 30s, assimilation was passionately supported by radical Aboriginal leaders," Mr Brunton said. "The day of mourning, the sort of protest meeting that was timed to coincide with the 150th anniversary of Australia Day, in fact was a protest against the fact that Aborigines were not being assimilated into Australian life."
One of the big lies of the politically correct is that, somehow, we should be ashamed of our Australian forebears. What we should be ashamed of is the likes of the Brisbane Mayor, Jim Soorley, who makes a point of associating himself with "sorry" brigades.
In fact one of the big untold stories is Lord Mayor Jim Soorley's rather unusual practices while he was practising as a Roman Catholic priest not so long ago in the Philippines.
Perhaps he should be saying "sorry" to the children allegedly affected by his behaviour and "please explain" why he was allegedly escorted to the airport by police when he left the Philippines.
The seven key points behind the UN-Iraq agreement.
We were able to get the basis of the new UN-Iraq accord off the Internet.
The seven-point plan can be summarised as follows:
1. The Government of Iraq reiterates that it will comply with all relevant Security Council resolutions and to co-operate with Unscom in the elimination of banned weaponry;
2. The UN reiterates the commitment of its members to respect Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity;
3. The Government of Iraq pledges to give Unscom immediate, unfettered and unconditional access in accordance with Security Council Resolutions 687 and 715, which set up the weapons inspection regime. Unscom promises to respect legitimate Iraqi concerns about its national security, sovereignty and dignity.
4. The UN and the Government of Iraq agree the following special procedures
for entry to the presidential sites specified in an annexe to the memorandum:
(a) A special group will be formed for this purpose and appointed by the
UN Secretary-General in consultation with the executive chairman of Unscom
and the director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency. This
group will include diplomats appointed by the UN Secretary-General and experts
from Unscom and the IAEA and will be headed by a commissioner appointed by
the Secretary-General;
(b) In carrying out its task, the special group will work according to approved
procedures of Unscom and the IAEA and according to special procedures that
will be worked out, in accordance with relevant Security Council resolutions,
due to the special nature of presidential sites;
(c) A report on the activities of the special group will be submitted to
the Security Council by the executive chairman of Unscom through the UN
Secretary-General.
5. The UN and the Government of Iraq agree that all other areas, equipment, documents, means of transportation and facilities will be subject to Unscom's procedures;
6. Taking into consideration the progress achieved by Unscom in all areas of disarmament and the need to intensify efforts to end its mission, the UN and Iraq agree to improve their co-operation, their efficiency, their activity and transparency to enable Unscom to present its report expeditiously to the Security Council under paragraph 22 of Resolution 687 (lifting the oil embargo), and to achieve this the Iraqi Government and Unscom will implement the recommendations of the extraordinary session of Unscom convened on November 21, 1997.
7. The lifting of the sanctions is of great importance to the people and Government of Iraq, therefore the UN Secretary-General pledges to draw the full attention of Security Council members to the issue.
The Ipswich Aboriginal Legal Service (ALS) - a family affair.
Yesterday we reported at length on the Thompson family's complete domination of the ALS in Ipswich.
It appears we left one family member out - David Thompson at the Perga Mission - another brother of Patricia - who also sits on the Ipswich ALS board...
Sorry about overlooking you David... you bunch of clowns.
Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras needs to be stopped.
Extract from a revealing article The Homosexual Agenda Rolls On (And On And On) by Gerard Goiran, WA President of CDP (Christian Democratic Party):
"The Silent Majority" survey, commissioned by advertising agency Clemenger and released in August 1997, discovered that "Homosexuals getting too much media attention" rated 10th in a list of the 40 top problems in Australia today.
"What is it about the homosexual lobby that is annoying so many Australians?
"When homosexual acts were legalised in 1989 for men aged 21 or over many Western Australians were prepared to accept that what two adult males did in the privacy of their bedroom, however distasteful, should not result in imprisonment.
"Those who opposed the legalisation of sodomy warned then that this was only the first step in a push to completely legitimise homosexual behaviour.
"The homosexual agenda today includes lowering the age of consent from 21 to 16; making it illegal to discriminate against homosexuals in all areas of life with no exemptions for churches or for positions involving the care of children; homosexual awareness classes throughout the school curriculum; vilification laws to prevent anyone criticising or opposing homosexuality; legal recognition of homosexual partnerships as equivalent to marriage and homosexual access to adoption of children and to reproductive technology as a means of acquiring children without natural sexual relations."
Just a few days ago the Wesley Mission's national (Channel 10) television children's programme "Swordfish" advised that it would be reporting back on this Saturday night's Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
The Rev Fred Niles will be leading a protest to try and stop the queer float
as it makes its way through the streets of Sydney. We can only hope that
he is successful.
"This isn't about profits or shareholders. It's
about serving our customers better." - ANZ Bank
In 1995 Senator Bob McMullan and then Finance Minister Kim Beazley (for the
then ALP government) entered into the
FSA (Financial
Services Agreement) which allowed foreign banks to control Australian
Banks.
Today 86% of Australian banks are foreign owned and the top five share holders
of Australia's four major banks are foreigners.
In 1995 Senator
Bob McMullan said, "The financial services
agreement will directly benefit Australian banks, insurance companies and
securities traders."
Since that time 40,000 employees of the big four have been fired as the banks
"rationalise". They are no longer "Australian" Banks. In fact Chase Manhattan
Nominees (owned by Rockefeller interests)
are one of the big five shareholders in all four and the largest in the
ANZ with over 11% of the bank's shares.
Yesterday the ANZ released a three paragraph press statement
which said that 1,700 staff would be dismissed as the bank moved into the
"electronic age".
The ANZ bank trimmed its staff by 2,000 last year.
Tania Hudson, the bank's media relations chief came out with what has to
be the classic of the year with the following, "This
isn't about profits or shareholders. It's about serving our customers
better."
Perhaps she should have been a politician.
For the record, Chase Manhattan Nominees are top 20 shareholders in
a number of "Australia" institutions:
Some on-line examples:
Yet despite exhaustive searches on the Internet absolutely nothing can
be found on the Internet about who owns Chase Manhattan Nominees...
Recently we reproduced the
Greenspan
speech in which it is revealed that banks are the
institutions that "make money on which interest is then charged".
Westpac embarked on a share buyback in late 1996. Here is an extract
from the
Sydney
Morning Herald article covering the news:
"Meanwhile, the identity of the buyer that raided
Westpac's converting preference shares last month remains a mystery, with
the buyer choosing to park the shares in a Chase Manhattan Nominee
company."
In fact, Chase Manhattan Nominees and Westpac Banking Corporation appear
to be one and the same with Westpac now being used as a vehicle by big money
to rape and pillage Australia.
Which bank is headed up by a yank? You guessed it
Westpac.
Aboriginal Money Supply
Millions in royalties flow through to Aborigines: ERA report
A new report from uranium miner Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) says
Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory have received more than $130
million through the Ranger mine.
A consultant has updated a 1993 report on the economic flow from Ranger to
the Territory's Aboriginal community.
Some of the money flows directly to Ranger's traditional owners through lease
payments. Other funds flow indirectly to traditional owners and the broader
Aboriginal community through royalty payments.
All of the Territory's land councils get a significant proportion of their
income through the royalties. The report says the long-term evidence of economic
benefit lies in the traditional owner's permanent investments in the Kakadu
region, such as the Crocodile Hotel.
ERA says its proposed Jabiluka uranium mine will generate another $210 million
in royalties over the mine's 27-year life.
You
might recall the story yesterday about one Queensland State Opposition
leader Peter Beattie who said he knocked back a Au$13,000 pay rise and then
went on the record as saying:
"They're (decent politicians) not there to get on the gravy train, I never
went into politics for the pay."
Today, I am pleased to say, a letter fell off the back of the proverbial
truck. The letter reads:
Dear Mr Borbidge,
Thank you for your letter of the 28th October, 1996
in relation to resources for the Leader of the Opposition.
May I say at the outset that I believe that your proposal
that the Leader of the Opposition be treated as the "nineteenth" minister
and the Office of the Opposition as the "nineteenth Ministerial Office" to
be entirely appropriate and desirable, and I support your initiative in this
regard. This would allow for greater accountability for the office with the
appropriate reports being furnished to Parliament.
Yours sincerely
SIGNED
Peter Beattie, MLA
In accepting the offer of the "nineteenth" ministerial
position
Beattie is accepting the Au$13,000 salary rise and, more importantly revealing
what a blatant liar he is.
Subject: Comments on Australian News of the
Day
HI,
I watched the start of a programme on the (Sydney)
ABC tonight entitled 'A Dying Shame' where it quoted the decreased life
expectancy, vulnerability to infection, the squalor that some Aborigines
lived in, as well as other statistics highlighting apparent disadvantages.
All this in dramatic fashion, you know, white text on black background, after
appropriate dramatic scenes.
I'm not sure whether us non-indigenous people are supposed
to feel bad about that, or whether the programme was just stating facts,
but it seems to me that Aborigines get far more money thrown their way than
I do, and if they choose to live like that, then that is their business.
In fact, if us n-i p were to force them to change their ways, then that seems
to be the same principle that drove the so called 'stolen children'
episode.
The part I can't understand is, what is driving
this push to continually highlight all the alleged bad things that happen
to Aborigines, and to hang a guilt trip on us n-i p. What is in it for them,
and where do they get the political clout?
My daughter goes to a Christian grammar school, mainly
because of the lack of choice of other schools we are happy with. You ought
to see her text book, "Understanding Australian History". One of the chapters
is titled "Genocide and the Aboriginal people". The book claims
to be in response to the NSW Gov curriculum for yr 7 students. I don't have
it in front of me now, so am relying on memory, but will write when I have
the exact details.
Colin.
Re: B. Pickering
Nowhere in my letter did I mention or accuse 1998
homosexuals of the NOT SO LONG ago debacle.
I merely stated that I would be watching a video about
stolen children instead of the homosexual parade. I also said that the video
makes mention of homosexual acts committed on some of those children.
As for the banks, if you don't like yours then switch
to a Credit Union.

HI PAULINE AND STAFF
I WISH YOU AND YOUR PARTY THE BEST OF LUCK THIS YEAR.
MY WHOLE FAMILY AGREE WITH MOST OF THE THINGS YOU HAVE STOOD UP AND SAID.
YOU A TRUE AUSSIE SOMEONE WHO IS NOT AFRAID TO STAND ON THEIR OWN TWO FEET
AND SAY WHAT MOST AUSTRALIANS THINK. THE POLICY OF CURFEW FOR PEOPLE UNDER
16 AFTER MIDNIGHT. IS THE BEST IDEA I HAVE SEEN FOR YEARS. THINK ABOUT IT
WHY WOULD A PERSON OF THAT AGE BE DOING ON THE STREET THAT TIME OF NIGHT
LAWFULLY.
WELL BEST OF LUCK KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
