International:

A former Gold Coast doctor's receptionist, Gina Gardiner, hopes to become the first foreigner to represent Britain in the Eurovision Song Contest. Her song, Juat a Little Bit, is about to be released ion the UK. Gina is a 4-1 favourite to win the Eurovision Contest with 70,000 votes more than the next contestant!

Last night Aussie Gina said: "Words can't wexpress how happy I am. I've been living in England since 1994 trying to get a breakthrough like this... and now its come."

Political:

The independent member for Kalgoorlie, Graeme Campbell, who like Pauline Hanson was dumped by his party for "racist" remarks may form an alliance with her in Parliament. It appears that the pair will support each other by seconding motions put.

Campbell said that Hanson has only quoted the facts but had done it badly. "There is a disproportionate allocation of resources to Aborigines, which is not benefitting them," he said. He went on to say that Hanson had been attacked remorselessly by the "Aboriginal industry and the media".

Business:

Well, well, well. Now that the election is over the predictable is happening. The major banks are now waiting in the wings like vultures to raise their interest rates if the budget deficit blows out.

You might remember the pre-election promises by then Prime Minister Paul Keating that the economy was in great condition. Good one Paul stick another lie up your sleeve. The budget deficit which according to Labor never was is estimated to be between Au$4 and Au$11 billion!

Sport:

Australia's triple world boxing champion Jeff Fenech showed that he had lost none of his punching power with a second round knockout of American Mike Juarez in their non-title bout in Melbourne last night. Fenech stopped the outclassed American in 2 mins 6 seconds of the second round.

Well in a world first a rookie - ex-Indy Car champion Jacques Villeneuve has taken pole position for today's Australian Formula One Grand Prix. Villeneuve pipped Williams team mate Damon Hill to grab the top spot. Their times were: 1 min 32.371 sec and 1 min 32.559sec.

Personal trivia:

A day in front of the computer yesterday putting the new Triumph International Japan site together. Will give you more details in due course... but it's going to be a fun site to visit!

Another beautiful sunny but cool day to day. We have officially moved into autumn and it has got to be one of the most pleasant times of the year.
