Ten day countdown to kick off with Indy Carnival "Preview Show."

The ten day countdown for the fifth anniversary Indy Carnival will kick-off with an early viewing of the opening round of the PPG IndyCar World Series from Miami Florida in the Macintosh Park pit area on Monday morning.

The Miami race will only be delayed by a few hours and will be shown on one of the three giant Trident screens which will be placed around the circuit for the Indy Carnival from March 16th to 19th.

South-East Queensland fans will be able to drop in and watch the race on their way to work with the viewing of the Florida event starting at 7.30 am.

The race will be the first ever on the downtown Miami street circuit and kicks off the PPG Season which continues "Down Under" with the Indy Carnival ten days later.

There will be three giant Trident screens strategically placed around the circuit during the four days of the Indy Carnival which will allow certain 84,020 bytes grandstand ticket holders a full closed-circuit coverage of the race while enjoying the atmosphere of the event at the same time.

The special "Preview Show" has been made possible with the co-operation of Channel Nine (Australia) who are the official broadcasters of Indy Carnival.

Indy Carnival Chief Executive, Mr Glen Jones, said he could not think of a better way to kick off the ten day countdown.

"I think the preview show will really get everyone in the mood for the Indy Carnival" said Jones.

"The showing of the Miami race will be the first in Australia and it is fitting that it will be shown on one of the giant Trident screens in our own pit area.

"I think people are really excited about this year's fifth anniversary and I think the showing of the Miami race will really get the engines started.

"I think Miami will iron out a couple of the bugs teams face in the first race of the year and that we will be in for one hell of a race come March 19 on the streets of Surfers Paradise."

Grandstand tickets are selling at a rapid rate, especially stands which have viewing to the huge Trident screens.
