INDY RACE HIGHLIGHTS 1991 to 1994:

1991:

Inaugural Gold Coast IndyCar Grand Prix won by Mario's nephew John Andretti (Lola Chevy). This was Andretti's first and only IndyCar victory.

1992:

Daikyo Indy Grand Prix won by Emerson Fittipaldi (Penske Chevy).

1993:

82,893 bytes. Nigel Mansell's historic debut in IndyCars, after winning the 1992 F1 title, was a spectacular success. He won the FAI IndyCar Grand Prix from pole position and took four more races on his way to winning the PPG cup for that year. Among other competitors rookie Robby Gordon was sensational nearly beating Mansell for the pole position.

1994:

FAI IndyCar Grand Prix went to 101,084 bytes. Michael Andretti,, his return to Indy Cars after an unsuccessful season as Senna's team-mate at McLaren in 1993. Andretti's victory in the new Australian designed Reynard came as darkness closed in. A freak storm delayed the scheduled start for more than two hours. The race was notable for the first racing appearance of the Honda IndyCar engine, with Bobby Rahal's team.

1995:

Mansell gone, Mario retired, Michael Andretti returns to Newman Haas in the company of Paul Tracy. 1994 champion Al Unser Jr and Emerson Fittipaldi back with the most successful IndyCar team of all time, Marlboro team Penske. A multitude of youngsters promise excitement - Andretti, Tracy, Robby Gordon, Jacques Villeneuve, Bryan Herta, Andre Ribeiro, Gil de Ferran, Adrian Fernandez, Scott Sharp, Jimmy Vasser, Mercedes Benz and Firestone enter the frey.
