Racing Career:
Began his professional racing career in 1974 as the Chilean Saloon Cars Champion. Won the Argentina Racing Driving School the following season.
1978 - Was the Argentina Formula 4 Champion.
1979 - Competed in the British Formula 3.
1980 - Winner of three races in Aurora British Formula One including the International Trophy at Silverstone. Placed second in the championship.
1981 - Became the first Chilean to compete in Formula One. Placed sixth at the Dutch Grand Prix. with ensign.
1982 - Competed in Formula One with ATS. Finished fifth at the San Marino Grand Prix. Ran LeMans with Dome.
1983 - Again competed in Formula One this time with Ram. Again competed at LeMans with Dome.
1984 - Won the Chilean Champion Rally Hill Climb with a Toyota Corolla.
1985 - Repeated as Chilean Rally Hill Climb champion with Toyota Celica.
1986 to 87 - Competed in Formula 3000.
1988 - Ran LeMans with Spice. Won the 1000kms of Japan group C2 Sports World Prototype World Championship.
1989 - Placed eighth at LeMans with Silk Cut Jaguar. Competed the remainder of the season with Spice.
1990 - Qualified winning car at LeMans with Silk Cut Jaguar. Won Sportsman of the Year award from the British magazine Autosports.
1994 - Ran the IMSA World Sports Car season for Momo- Ferrari. Won three races and placed second three other times.
