The population is multicultural and a significant number of families are itinerant. Mt Tarampa State School Mt Tarampa State School is a three teacher, primary or elementary school in Queensland, Australia, about 40 km from Ipswich and 30 km from Gatton. The school is about an hours drive from Brisbane. We have approximately 55 students, some of whom come from farming families who produce a variety of small crops like lettuce, pototoes and pumpkins. Other crops grown in the area are peanuts, peas, beans, broccoli, beetroot, carrots, onions, lucerne and turf.
